This Addendum is generally separated into sections for convenience; however, all contractors, subcontractors, material suppliers and other involved parties shall be responsible for reading the entire Addendum. Failure to list an item(s) in all affected sections of this Addendum does not relieve any party affected from performing per instructions, provided the information is set forth one time anywhere in the Addendum. 2 Livonia High Schools Press Boxes SHW Group Livonia Public Schools Project No , & Issued for Bids Issued: February 6, 2014 SECTION ALTERNATES PART 1 - GENERAL 1.1 RELATED DOCUMENTS A. Drawings and general provisions of Contract, including General and Supplementary Conditions and other Division 1 Specification Sections, apply to this Section. 1.2 SUMMARY A. This Section specifies administrative and procedural requirements for Alternates. 1. Definition: An Alternate is an amount proposed by Bidders and stated on the Bid Form for certain construction activities defined in the Bidding Requirements that may be added to or deducted from Base Bid amount if the Owner decides to accept a corresponding change in either the amount of construction to be completed, or in the products, materials, equipment, systems or installation methods described in Contract Documents. 2. Coordination: Coordinate related Work and modify or adjust adjacent Work as necessary to ensure that Work affected by each accepted Alternate is complete and fully integrated into the project. 3. Notification: Immediately following the award of the Contract, prepare and distribute to each party involved, notification of the status of each Alternate. Indicate whether Alternates have been accepted, rejected or deferred for consideration at a later date. Include a complete description of negotiated modifications to Alternates. 4. Schedule: A "Schedule of Alternates" is included at the end of this Section. Specification Sections referenced in the Schedule contain requirements for materials and methods necessary to achieve the Work described under each Alternate. a. Include as part of each Alternate, miscellaneous devices, accessory objects and similar items incidental to or required for a complete installation whether or not mentioned as part of the Alternate. PART 2 - PRODUCTS (Not Applicable) PART 3 - EXECUTION 3.1 SCHEDULE OF ALTERNATES A. Alternate 1: Provide air conditioning system at press box. Base Bid: No air conditioning. B. Provide all layout, labor, material and equipment for a complete installation of chain link fences and gates install in the existing site / asphalt parking lot. 2. Provide all coring and spoil removal associated with this work. 3. Provide daily clean-up and removal / disposal of all debris generated by or incidental to this work. 1. Qualified manufacturers must provide proof of an approval by the State of Michigan to manufacture press boxes for the State of Michigan. 2. Contractor must submit press box drawings for review and approval as necessary for all required permits by school. Contractor must obtain the Building System Approval Report from the State of Michigan. 3. Provide labor, material and equipment necessary for the complete removal of the existing press boxes and complete structural demolition (including footings) at Stevenson High School, Churchill High School and Franklin High School. 4. Furnish and install the new press boxes including all associated accessories, electrical, guardrail system, galvanized chain link fence, aluminum steps (coordinated to tie into existing concrete bleachers), furnishings, countertops, windows, structural members, roofing, and any new footings as shown on the drawings and indicated in the specifications. 5. Furnish and install all new concrete foundations and spread footings including all necessary excavation, undercutting, backfill, and compaction. Contractor is responsible for removing and legally disposing of all spoils. 6. Addendum #1: Provide alternate pricing (see below) for new intermediate steps at Stevenson High School (per keynote #8 on Sheet G001) and Churchill High School (per keynote #9 on Sheet G001). 7. Coordinate Press Box locations around existing conditions such as existing fencing, gates, towers, etc. 8. Contractor is responsible for sealing all penetrations made by this trade s work and ensuring that the enclosure is water-tight. 9. Furnish and install all electrical related items per sheet PB-01; typical per school. Contractor is responsible for complete electrical installation of the press boxes; Proposal C Electrical will provide the final power hook up to the power panels. 10. Contractor must provide a budget breakdown by school (Stevenson High School, Churchill High School and Franklin High School) at the post-bid interview. 11. Included daily clean-up and removal / disposal of all debris generated by or incidental to this work. Include all dumpsters. 1. Disconnect power from press box by Proposal C. 2. All equipment before press box panel board (i.e. transformers, switches, wireways, fuses, breakers, etc.), wiring and conduit from building to power connection / distribution panel point by Proposal C. 3. Final power hook up by Proposal C. 4. Chain Link Fencing cored into existing asphalt parking lot by Proposal A. ALT. #1 A/C Units: ALT. #2 New Aluminum Steps: -END OF PROPOSAL B PRESS BOX- 3 4

Provide labor and equipment for the electrical disconnect of the existing pressboxes prior to demolition. Demolition by others. 2. Provide final power connections to new distribution panels inside the new pressboxes. Contractor is responsible for coordinating and obtaining all required tests, state inspections, state permits, and licensing. 3. Contractor is responsible for sealing all penetrations made by this trade s work. 4. Furnish and install all electrical equipment and wiring ahead of press box panel board; this includes, but is not limited to, new transformers, breakers, fuses, switches, wireways, etc. 5. Contractor must provide a budget breakdown by school (Stevenson H.S., Churchill H.S., and Franklin H.S.) at post-bid interview. 6. Included daily clean-up and removal / disposal of all debris generated by or incidental to this work. Include dumpsters. 1. All lighting, power, data, panels, etc. inside the pressboxes by Proposal B Pressboxes.
