2 The Banks Monthly Report: September 2014 In September, Public Parties construction work continued on Bid Packages 12-1 and Modifications to the Pete Rose Way Pedestrian Bridge Stair handrail and the acrylic light panels are underway and will be completed in October. Smale Riverfront Park progress on both the Carousel Building and Adventure Playground continued this month, while future phases took shape. Developer s team continued construction of the apartments, as work on the GE Building got underway. 2

3 PUBLIC PARTIES CONSTRUCTION Public Safety Crews continued testing of garage and street cameras and security phones. Approximately 70% of punch list items have been addressed. Second Street Crews completed pouring the sidewalk. Team began laying sod from Elm to Race Streets. Delivery of the remaining sign posts for Second Street and for Theodore M. Berry Way is expected in October. Laying sod along Second Street, Elm to Race Streets. Race Street Scaffolding along Race Street has been removed. Railing installation was completed. Ohio River Walk Stage 3 plans are being reviewed by ODOT. 4 ECONOMIC INCLUSION The latest Public Parties construction Economic Inclusion information documents results through August 31, Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE) participation on BP12-2 is 17.5% (vs. 6.0% overall goal). A total of $865,566 has been paid to BP12-2 DBE contractors. BP12-1 participation is 5.5% (vs. 9% overall goal) as of August 31, A total of $217,289 has been paid to BP12-1 DBE contractors. Small Business Enterprise (SBE) participation for professional services is 16.6% (vs. 10% overall goal) through August 31, Total female participation is 2.01%. Combined minority and women workforce participation is 17.58% as reported by hours for September 1, 2008 through August 31, Employees living within the 15-county Cincinnati- Middletown Metropolitan Statistical Area represented 100% of the construction workforce. 5 SAFETY A total of 451,025.5 hours have been worked without a lost-time incident on Phase 1 and Phase 2a Public Parties construction through September 30, BUDGET As of September 30, 2014, Phase 2a Budget for Public Parties Construction remained within the published Construction Budget amount of $56.1 million. Phase 2a budget expended to date is 91.78%. 6 DEVELOPER By the end of September, roughly one-third of the apartment structure third floor west of the expansion joint has been poured. Formwork activities were underway for the balance of the floor. The third floor is the slab that serves as the take-off point for the apartment tower s Infinity structure system. Shear wall work for the stair and elevator cores began during the month. The tower crane for the GE Building was erected mid-month. All columns and shear walls extending from the 500 to 515 level were completed. Formwork activities were underway, with the first slab projected for pour mid-october. GE Building design received Urban Design Review Board and City Planning Commission approval. The structure package for the office has been submitted for permitting. The office construction team intends to continue vertical progress with the concrete frame, once the apartment building team reaches the third level slab at the east side of the block. Construction crew members worked a total of 66,455 hours without a lost-time incident April 28 through September 30, GE Building s tower crane was installed in September. Project at 9/1/14. 7 PARKS Parks construction continued in September: Phase 3 Adventure Playground Stone, irrigation and remaining canopy tree installation was completed. US Army Corps of Engineers is scheduled to start its scope of work in October. Phase 4 Vine Street Fountain and Carousel Carousel steel installation continues. Waterproofing and concrete placement for the cascades continues. Lower level masonry, banquet center kitchen rough-in, HVAC and electrical installation continues. Fountain feature equipment installation continues. Phase 5 south of Mehring Way, west of Roebling Bridge West river wall footer for the Ohio River Walk was placed. Duke Energy removed all abandoned electric lines and duct bank structures. Great lawn excavation. Slope stone installed for Adventure Playground. Team executes concrete pour for the Carousel. 7

Second Street traffic makes its way from Walnut to Main Streets for a September Reds game. RedBike station installation at The Banks opened in September. 8

9 WHAT S NEXT Construction crews for the Public Parties will move closer to completing their work on waterproofing and rehabilitating sidewalks and traffic lanes on Second Street. Parks will continue designing and building additional features in Smale Riverfront Park, while making strides toward completion of the Adventure Playground and the Carousel construction. The Developer will continue construction on the apartment building and the GE Building.
