Pant University of Agriculture & Technology, Pantnagar is organizing XIII National Conference of Association of Public Health Veterinarians and Symposium on The role of Veterinary Public Health in Improving Food Security & Safety through One Health Approach during November 30- December 01, Recognizing that human, animal and environmental health is inextricably linked; the One Health Initiative seeks to promote and protect the health and well-being of all by enhancing intersectoral cooperation and collaboration among Medical and Veterinary fraternities, Environmentalists, Public health authorities, Administrators, Policy makers, Research institutions and Industries to create a healthy world. This symposium will provide a common platform for all Health Professionals and Social Scientists where they can interact with each other and share their experiences. The organizing committee feels immense pleasure in extending a warm and cordial invitation to the Scientists, Academicians, Policy makers, Environmentalists, Food manufacturers and Veterinarians for their participation in the symposium. PANTNAGAR UNIVERSITY Govind Ballabh Pant University of Agriculture & Technology, Pantnagar is the first Agricultural University of India established in It is situated in the foot hills of Himalayas in Uttarakhand state. It lies at an altitude of m above the mean sea level and 29 N latitude and 79 E longitude. This university is called as the harbinger of the green revolution in India. It has always been at the forefront in agricultural development and has emerged as the model university in the country. The University has been bestowed upon with Best Institution Award twice in year 1997 & 2005 by Indian Council of Agricultural Research, New Delhi. During 2015, 2016 and 2017 the university was consecutively declared as best university of 1

2 Uttarakhand. Moreover, in 2017 the university was declared to be most neat and clean (Swachh) Government Institution of India under Swachh Bharat Abhiyan. VENUE The XIII Biannual National Conference of Association of Public Health Veterinarians and Symposium on The role of Veterinary Public Health in Improving Food Security & Safety through One Health Approach" will be held at the College of Veterinary & Animal Sciences, Pantnagar. The college was established in It has fifteen Departments and three independent units including Instruction Farm, Animal Biotechnology Center and Teaching Hospital. The college is actively engaged in diverse community welfare programmes. SCIENTIFIC PROGRAMME The symposium will have separate sessions under which the topics on the following broad areas would be discussed: Session - 1 Inaugural Session Session - 2 Thematic Session Session - 3 Infectious diseases and Public Health Session - 4 Food Borne Diseases, Food Safety Measures, Quality Control and Standards Session - 5 Milk and Meat Product Technologies, as well as Export Promotion with Quality Control Session - 6 Advancement in Avian Product Technologies and Contaminations in Poultry Products Session - 7 One Health Strategies Session - 8 Zoonoses and Epidemiology Session - 9 Poster Session Session - 10 Plenary Session Session - 11 Valedictory Function SUBMISSION OF ABSTRACTS Abstracts with title, author(s) name, , name of the institution, objectives, methods, results and conclusions (not exceeding 300 words) using MS word, Times New Roman (Font size 12 in double space) should be forwarded electronically to aphv.pantnagar.18@gmail.com before October 20, 2018 along with duly filled registration form. Abstract of paper should be based on the original work/concept of the author(s) and must not have published anywhere. Name of the presenting author should be underlined. Only quality papers will be selected for presentations in the relevant technical sessions. Submitted abstracts will be evaluated by a scientific committee and decision regarding acceptance/rejection will be communicated to the corresponding authors. Poster size for poster presentation should be 150 cm width and 90 cm height. Delegates are advised to have winter clothing. ACCOMMODATION All possible efforts will be made to provide accommodation to the registered delegates in the University guest houses on first come first serve basis. However, those who desire to seek accommodation in hotels may contact Organizing Secretary in advance. The participants may book their tickets (to and fro) at their own to avoid inconvenience at the last moment. TRANSPORT The organizers will arrange transport to receive the delegates from Haldi Road, Lal Kuan and Pantnagar Railway Stations, Rudrapur Bus Stations and Pantnagar Airport that has airplane services for a few days in week. There are number of places of tourist interest such as Nainital (65km), Mukteshwar (90km), Ranikhet (110km), Kausani (140km), Haridwar (230km) and Rishikesh (252km), Jim Corbett National Park (105km) and Rajaji National Park (230km). Sight Seeing trips may be arranged for the participants on payment basis. HOW TO REACH PANTNAGAR Pantnagar is well connected by rail and road to Delhi, Dehradun, Lucknow and Bareilly. Trains are available from Delhi to Lal Kuan, Lucknow to Lal Kuan/Pantnagar, Dehradun to Lal Kuan and Bareilly to Pantnagar/Lal Kuan. Buses are available from Anand Vihar ISBT (Delhi), Moradabad and Rampur to Rudrapur (nearest city/district HQ about 14 km from Pantnagar) as well as from Bareilly to Pantnagar. DHANDA MEMORIAL ORATION An eminent personality in the field of Veterinary Public Health/Veterinary Sciences will deliver Dr. M. R. Dhanda Memorial Oration. AWARD OF APHV FELLOW Applications are invited for the award of Fellow from the life members of three years standing on August 31, 2018 along with Bio-data in duplicate to reach Dr. Tapan Kumar Mandal, General Secretary, APHV, 37-KB Sarani, Belgachia, Kolkata , latest by October 01, The bio-data should include: Name of the candidate, Date of birth, Qualifications, Present position and scale of pay, Total professional experience in years, Membership/Fellowship particulars of other Associations, Award, Achievements, List of Research/Popular publications and any others within maximum two pages. Applications will be scrutinized by the Eligibility Committee consisting of three members of the Governing Body including the General Secretary and the recommended names will be circulated amongst the existing Fellows of the Association and the Governing Body Members for voting. The applicant receiving 65% of more of the votes polled will be considered as Fellow on payment of Rs. 3,000/-(Three thousand only) as the Fellowship subscription. Only TWO Fellowships will be awarded from the existing Life Members fulfilling the requirements every year. The selected candidates will be informed by November 1, 2018 and on payment of the Fellowship subscription, they will be awarded the Scroll etc. at the Inaugural Ceremony of l3 th National Conference of the Association to be held at Pantnagar. Dr. G. P. SEN ENDOWMENT BEST PAPER PRESENTATIONAWARD Research papers with abstracts are invited by October 31, 2018 for Dr. G. P. SEN endowment best paper presentation award from Veterinarians on any aspect of Veterinary Public Health including Zoonoses, Microbiology, Comparative Pathology, Parasitology, Meat, Milk, Egg, Fish & Sea food Hygiene and Technology, Animal Products Management and Marketing, Environmental Health, Community (Extension) Education etc.the paper is to be submitted to Dr. Tapan Kumar Mandal, General Secretary, APHV. ELIGIBILITY, TERMS AND CONDITION 1. Members of APHV aged not more than 35 years on1st April, 2018 are eligible to participate in the presentation. Evidence for date of birth and a certificate from Head of Institute/Guide to the effect that the work has been carried out by the applicant and not published in any journal are to be submitted with the paper and the abstract. 5

6 2. Research work carried out by the Veterinarians as a Project/Scheme/Departmental Research/Post Graduate Work during the last five years can only be presented. 3. APHV reserves the right to defer the award if suitable papers are not available in a particular year and the decision of the Credential Committee will be final. DR. C.
