13 Actions and Voluntary Mitigation Initiatives in Ecuador Sectors Reported Energy Industry Agricultural, Land Use Change and Forestry Waste Seven projects that are framed in two strategic action lines: energy generation and energy efficiency. Avoid on average the emission of 1.7 million tco2-e/year. Two projects aiming at changing the productive and energetic matrix. 23 Emission Reduction Results for Deforestation Area: 100% national territory ( ha) Technical Annex REDD+ went through an International Consultation and Analysis (ICA) process, in 2016 Reduction of emissions = tco 2 eq M tco 2eq year -1 Reduction of emissions for Deforestation = tco 2eq BUR presented and technically evaluated by experts of the UNFCCC 52,7 M tco2 eq / year 43,4 M tco2 eq / year 38,5 M tco2 eq / year Reduction of 4.8 million tco 2 year eq per 28,9 Millions of tco2eq were not emitted due to avoided deforestation in the period The technical analysis concluded that the data and information provided by Ecuador in the technical annex are transparent and consistent over time and with the assessed forest reference emission level that was established in accordance with decision 1/CP.16, paragraph 71(b), and decision 12/CP.17, chapter II. UNFCCC communicated to Ecuador the TTE members and time frame Review week 30 th November Ecuador sent to UNFCCC responses to the preliminary clarificacion 11 th November. UNFCCC sent to Ecuador preliminary clarification 07 th December UNFCCC sent to Ecuador preliminary identification of capacity building needs to be adressed during the TTE video conference 03 th March : TTE prepared and shared a draft summary report with Ecuador 31 th July: Ecuador provided its feedback on the draft summary report
