3 ABOUT US Vriksha Agro Ventures is an agricultural research and development firm based out of Coimbatore, India. The organization works towards developing ingenious and bespoke technology solutions to address the challenges faced by farmers and the farming community at a larger level and detailed scope. 4 SHIDOCOAT TM OFFERS TECHNOLOGY SOLUTIONS Coating Solutions: This treatment aims at increasing germination rate of seeds & improving seedling vigour. This technology also aims at promptly increasing the shelf life of seeds by ensuring that the coating applied to the seeds address the challenge of seed dormancy, that is caused because of exposure of seeds to external pathogenic and moisture conditions. Shidocoat TM coating solutions are provided as custom made solutions based on client needs. We provide, CROP SPECIFIC COATING SOLUTIONS GENERIC COATING SOLUTIONS Crop Specific solutions have been formulated based on understanding the characteristics of each seed family. The active ingredients and formulation of the treatment/ coating solutions have been meticulously chosen in such a manner that It amplifies the characteristic of the seed, working alongside the seed s innate mechanism. Offers overall immunity enhancement for the seed by understanding and addressing the specific microbial contaminations that deteriorate the capability of the seed. Generic coating solutions are recommended when clients prefer to use the formulation as a mere binding agent that shall be used to seal the different applied treatments (fungicide & pesticide) they wish to apply to seed. HOW DOES SHIDOCOAT WORK TO IMPROVE GERMINATION & SEED VIABILITY? TM SHIDOCOAT TM formulations are incorporated in such a manner that positively adjusts the imbibition and germination capacity of the seed based on its innate nature, without altering any of its natural genetic characteristics. They can confer temperature-sensitive water permeability to seeds or affect gaseous exchange. By this it controls the timing of seed germination and seedling emergence. These results observed effectively with medium and low vigour lots, as they alter the below mentioned capacities of the seeds to a permeable upper maximum. Hence such effects result in increased germination and better vigour.

7 HOW ARE CHALLENGES FACED? IMBIBITION Water-related problems in agricultural systems generally results in low or reduced germination rates. Our coating material includes Hydro Absorbents to overcome these problems by the way of increasing the imbibition rate of seeds through hydrophilic substances. Enzymatic breakdown of starch, protein and lipids during germination suggests a major influence on ENZYME ACTIVATION the seed germination metabolism during phase II of germination (the first 48H of seed germination). Our formulations enhance this process by providing germination promoting substances. Thus, the major enzymes involved in carbohydrate and protein metabolism are activated through the external stimuli provided by formulation as well. Mobilization efficiency varies during seed storage/longevity period. The most important factor that causes loss of germination is decrease in the activity of enzymes. Degradation and inactivation of enzymes due to changes in their macromolecular structures. Enzymes such as superoxide dismutase, catalase, peroxidase and glutathione reductase are drastically reduced in aged seeds. The general decrease in enzyme activity in the seed lowers the respiratory capacity, which in turn lowers both the RESERVE MOBILIZATION energy (ATP) and assimilates supply of the germinating seed. Therefore, several changes in the enzyme macro-molecular structure may contribute to their lowered germination efficiency. SHIDOCOAT TM contains the properties of selective antioxidants and a cocktail of growth stimulating substances, which can considerably obstruct the activity of hyper active free radicals which can cause extensive damages by cross linking and denaturing the macro-molecules within the cellular system. This in-turn promotes seedling vigour and vitality through production of healthier root system which helps the plant by facilitating better nutrient uptake.
