The full-day conference will assess some of the European and global market opportunities and/or risks in the production and trade of wood products. Like all WOOD MARKETS conferences, it will provide an excellent networking opportunity. We have invited ten industry experts to speak at our conference as well as selected industry personnel for our engineered wood panel session. They will be organized in the following sessions and will address timely issues and trends:

RUSSIA/NORTH AMERICA TOPIC: USA - Lumber & Panel Trends & Outlook Kevin Mason Managing Director, ERA Forest Products Research, Canada After starting his financial career in banking and subsequently cofounding a consulting practice that included corporate advisory and valuation services to diverse industries from biotech to retail, Kevin Mason joined ERA Forest Products Research in Kevin and his team of analysts at ERA cover the forest industry sector s major North American, South American and European companies and provide detailed analysis of the global forest products industry to clients worldwide. Kevin holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of BC, and has been a CFA charter holder since Kevin will address some of the following topics on the U.S. wood products sector: Overview of U.S. economy and housing Demand-side dynamics for softwood lumber and panels Supply-side dynamics for U.S. lumber, plywood and OSB U.S. market outlook

ASIA/NORTH AFRICA/MIDDLE EAST TOPIC: China - Market & Import Trends Will Zhang Director, Shandong Willwood Forest Products, China In 2012, Will Zhang set up Willwood Forest Products focusing on import housing materials such as OSB, MDF, particleboard and glue-lam/clt, etc. It has more than 100 customers of builders and developers in wood structural house business in China. In 2004 he founded the trading company Qingdao Canlum Resources Industry, which has 6 main warehouses in main ports of China with a turnover 150,000m3 of high grade, softwood lumber. Prior to that, he was the GM of a private company in real estate and interior decoration. He has also worked for CIMC China International Marine Container Group, Forest Development, as Sales Manager for Hardwood Lumber and Logs from Surinam and Indonesia, and for the Bank of China in International Finance. Will Zhang will be speaking on the following topics: Overview of China s housing and construction market Wood-frame and engineered housing and buildings in China Log market trends, including Russian imports Softwood lumber market trends Opportunities for European and appearance grade lumber in China Role of Russian, Canadian, US, European & Chinese-produced lumber Summary and Outlook for

RUSSIA/NORTH AMERICA TOPIC: Russia - Industry & Export Outlook Martin Hermansson CEO, RFI Consortium Ltd., Russia Martin Hermansson graduated from The London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE) in 2005 with a BSc in Economics. He moved to Russia the same year and founded Gungner Industries in Having the base in Gungner Industries he founded Nord Timber Group (NTG) in the Arkhangelsk region together with German and Danish investors in the beginning of Two years later, having worked as CEO in NTG with approximately one million hectares of Spruce and Pine forests leased in the Arkhangelsk region, NTG merged with RusForest AB. RusForest AB was at the time listed on the Stockholm Stock Exchange and Martin became the CEO of the untied RusForest group until late Since 2013, Martin has headed RFI Consortium, a Moscow based investment company and trader active in the Russian forestry sector and with active presence in China. Martin will address some of the following topics: Industry dynamics in Russia from timber harvesting to lumber production to exports. Russia trade with key export markets in China, ME-NA, Europe, etc. Impact of the Russian ruble devaluation impacts on market and Russian producers. Outlook for the Russian industry poised for growth or constrained by internal issues?

EUROPE: Part 1 TOPIC: Europe - Lumber Industry & Market Outlook Carsten Doehring CEO, Ilim Timber Europe, Germany Carsten Doehring has been Managing Director of Ilim Timber mills in Landsberg am Lech and in Wismar (Germany) since 2010, as well as the CEO of Ilim Timber Europe GmbH, also in Landsberg. Carsten spent 10 years in Asia, where he was in charge of the production facilities of German companies Groz- Beckert and Schaefer Systems International. While in Asia, he spent five years as Deputy General Manager (China) and five years as Director of Manufacturing (Malaysia), and became a Board Member of Klausner Group in 2005, eventually taking over responsibility for Production and Technology at five German sawmills. Carsten holds degrees as a graduate mechanical engineer (BA) and graduate industrial engineer (FH). Carsten will address some of the following topics: Current sawnwood/lumber situation in Europe. Log supply issues: availability vs. price Sawnwood/lumber production trends in Europe by major producing or consuming country. Export market trends for European sawnwood where are markets strong and weak? Fit for European sawnwood in China AND the USA? Outlook

EUROPE: Part 2 TOPIC: Europe - Engineered Wood & CLT Trends Heikki Vidgren Senior Consultant, Pöyry Management Consulting, UK Heikki has 20 years of experience and training in the wood industry sector starting from hands-on experience with sawmills and timber trade companies in Finland, Germany and the UK, and completion of M.Sc.(Eng.) in wood technology in He joined Pöyry in Finland in 2000, and specialized in wood products markets, industry and technology. Since 2005, he has worked in London and completed valuations, commercial and technical due-diligences within the wood products sector, including businesses focused on both traditional and new wood products. In total, he has carried out valuations, technical assessments or due-diligences of over 50 production facilities, and visited over 150 facilities around the world. Heikki will address some of the following topics: Key trends in the key engineered wood products consumed (and produced) in Europe: o Glu-laminated beams; o I-joists; o LVL; o Cross-laminated timber (CLT). Market development and growth for engineered wood products in Europe, with a focus on CLT. Outlook for engineered wood products in Europe and trends in import and exports.

ASIA/NORTH AFRICA TOPIC: North Africa & Middle East - Market Trends Guillaume Hotelin Deputy CEO, Comarbois, Morocco Guillaume Hotelin is the Deputy CEO of Comarbois, a Moroccan timber importer which is part of Robelbois Group. For several decades, Robelbois Group has been the leader in the timber business in Morocco. Founded in 1953, the Group is divided into 4 companies (Robelbois, Comarbois, Gadimat & Socoreg), which oversee the timber industry throughout the country, and control about one-third of the market. Guillaume joined Comarbois in 2012 after completing a MBA at UCLA Anderson School of Management. Part of his work is to analyze the trends of the timber market not only in Morocco, but also in the MENA region. Guillaume will address some of the market dynamics impacting the North African markets as well as in the Middle East. The key market countries will be addressed in a top-down approach to understand the growth prospects, risks and softwood import trends. Since 2008, while the economic turmoil has been hitting Europe pretty hard, the North African softwood market seems to remain dynamic. However, some questions may arise: Will it keep growing? Should we still be concerned by the Arab Spring? or How will this timber market evolve?
