Renewable Resources The department offers BSc programs in Environmental and Conservation Sciences, Forestry, and Forest Business Management. The department has strong connections with research & industry. NAIT Forestry Diploma 80% of NAIT students come from a rural & forest based community. SRD has an incentive program to train & upgrade foresters. Grade Boreal Forest Research Centre Forest Explorers research show; $6,000 in grants to high schools per year; $15,000 in scholarships per year matched by NADC; summer forestry camp & internships; administration of Mackenzie Forest Education Society; in class mentoring. K-9 Mackenzie Forest Education Society the Forest Educator makes contact with 30-plus schools in the north central Peace River region, inspiring in the range of 2,000 to 2,500 students a year with tours & presentations.

20 Forest Education Forest Explorers is Alberta s largest student - based environmental show Incremental funding from ASRD, ACA, Inside Education, Manning Forestry Research Fund. Over 500 students from 10 high schools attended the event in Previous Forest Explorers took place in 1997; 1999; 2001; and 2003.
