2 ABSOLUTE ADAPTABILITY, ANYTHING IS POSSIBLE! Hoeing has been shown to be the solution for dealing with adventitious weeds in the vast majority of precision drilled crops with interrow spacings of more than 20 cm. There are two essential conditions: that the soil should be dry when hoeing is carried out, and that the days following hoeing should have drying weather conditions in order to prevent the plants recovering. Even if the adventitious plants aren t completely destroyed, they should be weakened and therefore their future growth should be limited. Hoeing, combined with an effective steering system, will provide precision work with high work rates and increased operator comfort. The pass with the hoe can be optimised by combining precision spraying equipment to treat the row or apply liquid or solid fertiliser to it. The quantities of chemicals required are significantly reduced, as are losses due to evaporation and run off. Apart from eliminating adventitious weeds and reducing the number of weed seeds in the ground, hoeing also reduces the number of pests and reduces the disease risk in the crop. Due to it aerating the soil the moisture transfer between the air and the soil is improved thus aiding crop development. Any soil capping is eliminated, therefore reducing run-off and erosion whilst encouraging mineralisation due to improved microbial activity. The crop benefits from more nitrogen and water being available. 4 rows THE STANDARDS Fixed beam 4 x 75 cm rows Fixed beam 4 x 80 cm rows Fixed beam 6 x 75 cm rows Fixed beam 6 80 cm rows Folding twin beam 6/4 rows 75 cm 3 m 50 Folding twin beam 6/4 rows 80 cm 3 m 50 Folding twin beam 6 rows 75 cm 2 m 70 Folding twin beam 6 rows 80 cm 2 m 70 Folding single beam 6 rows 75 cm Folding single beam 6 rows 80 cm Folding twin beam 8/4 rows 75 cm 3 m 50 Folding twin beam 8/4 rows 80 cm 3 m 50 Folding twin beam 8 rows 75 cm 2 m 70 folding twin beam 8 rows 80 cm 2 m 70 Folding single beam 8 rows 75 cm Folding single beam 8 rows 80 cm Folding twin beam 7 rows 60 cm Folding single beam 7 rows 60 cm Folding twin beam 12 rows 45 cm Folding twin beam 12 rows 50 cm HOEING:A COLLECTION OF BENEFITS Hoeing is not simply a solution of the mechanical weeding. It is a sound agricultural practice that improves the soil surface, water penetration, and root development thanks to soil shattering. It also reduces run-off and erosion. Nowadays it is possible to hoe at a steady speed of around 8 to 10 km/h. It also gives the opportunity to apply spray or place fertiliser precisely leading to important savings. Let yourself be tempted, and find out more about our solutions for efficient and comfortable hoeing! Maize 6 rows 8 rows Before After BENEFIT FROM CARRE S EXPERIENCE AFTER 75 YEARS OF INNOVATION Sunflowers Sugar Beet 7 rows 12 rows CARRE is a family run company based in the Vendée. Since 1938 we have endeavoured to design, build and market equipment intended for soil preparation, drilling, fertilisation and a complete range of crop management. Our aim is to offer you equipment that is designed to suit your conditions. USER S EXPERIENCE CARRE is situated in the heart of a farming region, and all its products are developed in association with recognised cereal farmers. You will therefore benefit from their knowledge and their experience with implements, when buying Carré equipment. Over the last 75 years the company has received several prizes for innovation and it would like to assist you in the management of your crops in order to obtain optimal yields. Philippe L., Farm manager in Calvados My main aim when I got an interrow hoe was to reduce the number of passes and chemical applications whilst reducing the number of weeds producing seed heads as much as possible. I have 125 ha of sugar beet, so I tried the 12 row Econet inter-row hoe which is fitted with the PRECICAM camera guidance system. The strong point of this implement is clearly the guidance which provides a huge increase in precision. Thanks to the technique and the precision we have gained, we have been able have one less person involved in hoeing! The hoes other strong point is the ease with which adjustments can be made. It is an implement that is user-friendly, fully equipped and has fully met my expectations!

7 2+ THE GUIDANCE CONTROL PANEL The interface guidance control panel with a steering ram Allows for a 20 cm drift on either side Welded square tube frame Can be hitched to all types of hoe Mounted to the tractor front 3 point linkage, and a 3 point linkage on the back of the guidance control frame for attaching your implement, whether it is made by Carré or not Overhang reduced by 38 cm Held by: - Wheels with tyres10 ply Ø550x175 mm - Steerable coulters Ø400x150 mm for sloping ground THE CAMERA Hoe at up to 15 km an hour with a level of precision of 3 cm on either side of the row! FOLLOWING A MARKER LINE The camera targets the crops without touching the drill line A ram moves the hoes linkages guide arm automatically and instantaneously in order to keep it on the row It is fitted to the guidance frame or as close as possible to the hoe sections in order to increase precision. Where the crops are uneven the guidance frame locks itself in a straight line until it is able to identify the row, or rows again. Once lifted on the headlands the guidance frame automatically sets itself into the central position for the new run. A pivoting wheel which is mounted under the PRECICAM follows line made earlier by the drill mounted scallopped marker discs The wheel follows the hollow left by the marker disc ensuring accurate guidance The scallopped marker discs can be mounted to the interrow hoe, if several hoe passes are to be carried out The seat can be mounted to the hoe in order to control the PRECICAM via an electronic control box The camera enables work to be carried out at a very early stage, once the plant has reached 3 cm in diameter. Camera with a double lens in order to follow one or several crop rows The control box in the tractor cab enables the signal quality to be monitored continuously The desired precision level can be adjusted from the tractor cab THE CROP FEELERS The crop feelers:for crops that have rigid stems opt for crop feelers Work as soon as the crop is tall enough to activate the feelers On touching the stem the feelers activate the steering guidance frame. Just as the camera the feelers can be mounted on the guidance frame or on the hoe in order to improve precision The guidance quality depends on the camera s ability to detect the rows of growing plants. The crop must be distinguishable between the weeds. The amount of soil visible between the rows must be at least 5 to 10 cm. The distance between the plants in the same row must be 30 cm at the most with even crop growth.

Plants that have multiple leaved stem and those that are able to regenerate from their roots (maize, sugar beet) do not suffer from much of a setback in their growth. This technique can be used with soya, sunflowers, sugar beet, leaks, maize. Options available - RIDGING - COMB HARROW - AREA METER - INDEPENDENT FOLDING - ADJUSTABLE BEAM SPACER - ROAD LIGHTING AND MARKERS - SIGHT GAUGE - REAR VIEW MIRRORS Thermal weeding efficiency is closely linked to the earliness with which young adventitious weeds are treated. Optimum crops resistance depends on their type and their growth stage. As a general rule, plant resistance to heat depends on several factors: the species, the growth stage, the thickness of their leaves and stems and their lignin levels. Adventitious weed survival after thermal weeding is largely dependent on their regenerative capacity after the heat treatment:vivaces plants are less sensitive to heat treatment than grass weeds (mono-cotyledons). Standard wide hoe section Standard narrow hoe section (See page Hoe section) Wide organic hoe section Narrow organic hoe section (See page Hoe section) Short section (See page Hoe section) - WHEEL MARK ERADICATORS - HOE SECTION HYDRAULIC LIFTING SYSTEM All of our sections have easy tool free adjustment using a screw handle.
