18 MARKET INTELLIGENCE (1) STATE SECTOR Since 1993, well developed and functioning market information system exists Statistical Yearbook of forestry published annually by the State forest survey service, in Lithuanian and English, ( PRIVATE SECTOR New MIS launched in 2001 ( Currently 15 cooperatives & companies supply data about their roundwood sales Data coverage is rapidly growing: 30,000 m3 in ,000 m3 in ,000 m3 in 2003 ~850,000 m3 in 2004

20 Specialty (non-wood) Forest Products & services- opportunities for Forest Owners Mushrooms and wild berries gathering In Lithuania about species of mushrooms are used. The annual potential yield of mushrooms is about thous. tons. (~30% is used) HUNTING The total hunting area: 4,178,362 ha (1,931,651 ha of the forest and 2,246,711 ha of the fields, shrubs, waters. The 897 hunting clubs, more than 30 thousand hunters. RECREATION, COUNTRY SIDE TOURISM (demand increasing ) OTHER (herbs, bees, etc)
