13 Examples of ideas which have been realised with grants from Grow with the Forests Investment in planing equipment Development of wooden bricks for building Technique for avoiding splintering during sawing Preparation of a forest area for walks in combination with cheese tasting Building cabins for small events and lodging New type of wooden shelters

14 Advisory services e.g. forest cleaning In 2012 an analysis of the need for cleanings was carried out using satellite imagery cleaning index forest owners received a letter informing them their forests were in need of cleaning In forest consulting was offered as well as education on how to order cleaning operations

15 The effect - more cleaning done, more jobs In 2013 a post cleaning campaign evaluation was conducted 1000 forest owners interviewed Result: Increased cleaning activity on approx. 10,000 ha Increased labour intensity 4,200 days conducted by entrepreneurs 12,000 labour days for cleaning conducted by forest owners themselves Cleaning campaign continues during 2014

16 Efforts made for gender equality education Order forest entrepreneurial services - Skills development on how to order entrepreneurial services for forest operations many female participants and part of the Rural Development Programme Forest in the school

17 The Forest Kingdom and a forthcoming National Forest Programme Next steps Continuing the broad commitment for and results from The Forest Kingdom Spring 2014, Government Bill proposing a dialogue process for a National Forest Programme Long-term, strategic work to develop a Swedish forest program, further facilitating the contribution of forest and its value-chain to a growing biobased economy
