2 OBJECTIVES 1. To present current trends in ecological and biodiversity research; 2. To disseminate long-term ecological and biodiversity research results conducted in the Philippines to the researchers, policy makers and donors; 3. To encourage the establishment of LTER and Biodiversity sites; 4. To give insights to LGU s, administrators, and heads of offices for policy formulation; and 5. Submit the abstract on-line thru the website: The deadline for the submission is on September 9, A notice of acceptance for either paper or poster presentation will be sent to the authors.

3 FORMAT FOR ABSTRACT 1. Title (Centered, bold, upper, and lower case, capitalize only the first letter of the title except for scientific names, and place) 2. Authors (centered, upper and lower case), should use first and surname, presenting author underlined 3. Institution (centered, upper and lower case), if authors are from different institutions indicate with superscripts (upper left cover) the respective affiliations, presenting author should indicate complete address 4. Abstract (maximum of 5 keywords, alphabetical order) 5. Use A4, Times New Roman, Font size 12, 1 inch in all sides. 6. Write the Category if it is for Oral Presentation or Poster Presentation below the keywords FORMAT FOR POSTER 1. SIZE. The whole poster should be presented in a 30(W)x 40(H) tarpaulin. 2. TEXT LETTERING. Use type letters at least 20 points. Use upper and lower case standard letters. 3. TEXT COLORS. Good two color combinations. Dark type on light, plain background is easiest to read. 4. ILLUSTRATIONS. Photographs and graphs should be 5 x 7 (12.5 cm x 18 cm). Captions should be readable. 5. TITLE AND AUTHOR. 4 Central Mindanao University Map To Cagayan de Oro City CEBREM To Davao City Travel to Symposium Location The symposium will be held at the Farmers Training Center, Central Mindanao University (CMU), Musuan, Bukidnon, Mindanao, Philippines. The University is in the Municipality of Maramag, with the clearly visible landmark Musuan Peak. The closest airports are those in Davao (direct flights from Manila, Cebu, Zamboanga, Iloilo, Puerto Princesa, and Singapore) and Cagayan de Oro City. Cagayan de Oro port receives passenger boats from Manila, Cebu, Tagbilaran, Bacolod, Dumaguete, Iloilo, and Jagna, Bohol. For those arriving by plane, a trip by land is required from either Cagayan de Oro City or Davao City. From the Laguindingan airport, you may take a van to the Agora Bus Terminal in Cagayan de Oro City. Take a Davao-bound bus; the 126 km trip to Musuan, located between Valencia and Maramag, usually takes 4-5 hours. An alternative is to rent a vehicle from the airport all the way to Musuan. The fare should be agreed upon before the trip. From the Davao City airport, take a taxi to the Ecoland Bus Terminal. Take a Cagayan-bound bus for the 154 km trip to Musuan (located after Maramag and before Valencia). The land trip that passes the scenic and high elevation Marilog Forest and Mt. Salumay usually takes 4-5 hours.
