3 Center Horse Landscape Restoration Project Summary Selected Action (Draft Record of Decision (DROD)) The draft decision for the Center Horse Landscape Restoration Project is based on the information in the Draft and Final EIS, the supporting documentation in the Project File, and consideration of issues and public comments. It is consistent with all laws, regulations, and agency policy. The Selected Action attempts to provide the best balance of management activities to respond to the project s purpose and need, while also being responsive to issues and public/agency input identified through the analysis. Activities included in the Selected Action are summarized in Table below as well as on the attached maps. Land management activities within the,-acre Center Horse project area include: vegetation management (e.g., commercial harvest, non-commercial tree cutting, prescribed burning, weed treatment); road treatments (e.g., decommissioning, storage, maintenance, and rerouting road segments away from sensitive riparian areas); watershed improvements (e.g., culvert replacements and removals); and soil restoration activities (e.g., weed treatments, landing and skid trail rehabilitation, and shrub and tree planting). This work would likely be implemented in phases over a -to -year period which is anticipated to begin in. Table. Decrease in open yearlong to closed or unavailable to motorized use due to the road being decommissioned or put into storage under this project.
