1 Mr. Tim LeMoine, Project Development Manager Triangle Associates, Inc Three Mile Road NW Grand Rapids, MI Colorado Tree Consultants 1600 South Carr Street, Lakewood, Colorado January 21, 2015 RE: HighMark Global Village Academy Dear Mr. LeMoine: Thank you for the opportunity to provide an appraisal of the trees on the HighMark Global Village Academy project in Parker, Colorado. I appraised the trees using the trunk formula method developed by the Council of Tree and Landscape Appraisers Guide for Plant Appraisal 9 th Edition and supplemented with regional information from the Species Rating and Appraisal Factors Guide, 2011 published by the Rocky Mountain Chapter of the International Society of Arboriculture. The trunk formula method is used to appraise the monetary value of trees considered too large to replace with nursery grown or field dug trees. The basic value of a tree is based on the installed cost of the largest commonly available transplantable tree plus the increase in value due to the larger size of the tree being appraised. This value is then adjusted based on the species, condition and location of the appraised trees. I inventoried the size, species and confirmed the location of one hundred seventy-four (174) trees across the entire site. Within the Limit of Work boundary I appraised twenty-four (24) trees that meet the size requirements as identified in the Town of Parker tree and shrub conservation and replacement guide: these are listed as trees to be removed. As the site was the growing field of an abandoned nursery and currently has no irrigation to the trees, the overall condition of the trees within the construction limits was poor to fair. An exception is the three Scots pine (Pinus sylvestris) which are in good condition. These 24 trees are tabulated in the attached spreadsheet by species, diameter and appraised value. I also inventoried and appraised one hundred thirteen (113) trees outside the Limit of Work boundary and included these in the table of trees to preserve. To assist in preserving these trees north and northwest of the construction site, I recommend erecting a temporary fence to physically separate the construction activity from the tree preservation area. Finally, I inventoried thirty-seven (37) trees that are in the far northeast part of the site. It is my understanding that this piece is expected to be divided from the parcel where the construction will occur. These trees are not included on the tree survey provided by others. If needed, I can complete an appraisal of these trees and tabulate the results as part of an additional agreement. If you have any questions or require further information please call me anytime.
