2 Welcome Dear Delegates, It is my pleasure to welcome you, the delegates from Swiss Federal Institute for Forest, Snow and Landscape Research WSL to join this sino swiss joint workshop in 2014 in Shenyang, China. In recent years, our institute has obtained a lot of academic achievements since we signed the MOU between IAE CAS and WSL from Swiss in year Since then, professor Yong Jiang (representative of IAE) and professor Maihe Li (representative of WSL) have intensively conducted joint research. Many solid collaboration activities, such as joint research articles, have been successfully implemented. In order to promote the level of our bilateral relationship and cooperation between the two institutes, we hold this Sino Swiss workshop in Shenyang, China. We are looking forward to many more solid agreements such as personnel exchanges, joint workshops as well as joint research projects that would be realized during this conference. Finally, I sincerely wish this workshop with a great success, and also expect that all the experts both from abroad and home will have a happy time in Shenyang, China.
