1 Meyer Forest Management Ron Meyer, Consulting Forester NOTICE OF TIMBER SALE November 6, 2013 To Timber Buyers: Acting as the representative of Campbellsville University, landowner, I am offering for sale a total estimated 257,025 bf (Doyle Log Rule) of mixed hardwood sawtimber. This property was formerly owned by Bruce Heilman and has been managed as a Tree Farm for many years. The timber is located on approximately 100 acres on KY 574 (10083 Mattox Ridge Road) in northeastern Henry County, Kentucky. The property is further described as being located 2.7 miles south of KY 193 (Port Royal Road) and 12.0 miles south of Interstate 71. The timber will be sold by sealed bid at 1:00 PM Eastern Time on Tuesday, December 3rd, SALE FEATURES The Campbellsville U. timber sale is being sold simultaneously with the Zoeller timber sale providing an opportunity to purchase adjacent tracts totaling approximately 475,000 bf. Sale is heavy to white and red oak with some excellent quality found throughout. Access is being made available through the adjacent Zoeller timber sale property. Only 10% payment required at contract signing to allow for a more flexable harvesting schedule. Trees to be sold are marked with blue paint, one spot at ground level and two slashes above stump height. Trees marked with an X were deemed to be cull and may be cut at the buyer s discretion. I will have a formal timber showing on Tuesday, November 26th. We will meet at Mattox Ridge Road at 9:30 AM EDT; look for the Tree Farm and Stewardship Forest signs. I will be happy to show the timber at other times upon request. The timber may also be viewed on your own at your convenience. I encourage buyers to look over the timber closely as there is a significant amount of high quality timber. The timber will be sold by sealed bid. Interested parties must submit bids to me, Ron Meyer. I will have a public bid opening at 1:00 PM, Eastern Time, on Tuesday, December 3rd, 2013 at Mattox Ridge Road. Bids should be mailed to 125 Buck Run Road, Versailles, KY and must be received by December 2, Faxed and bids will be accepted up 8:00 AM the day of the bid opening, December 3rd. A sale contract will be executed within 10 days of the notification of acceptance of offer. 10% payment will be due upon signing of the contract; balance due prior to beginning harvest operations or 90 days from the contract date, whichever occurs first. A performance bond in the amount of $1,000 will be required before harvesting begins. This bond will assure that the property is left in good condition at the conclusion of the harvest operation. Contract length will be 12 months from the contract date. The seller retains the right to reject any or all bids. 3 BID FOR ADVERTISED TIMBER In response to notification of timber for sale on the Campbellsville University property, located in Henry County, Kentucky: I (we), (name of bidder) do hereby offer the lump sum of dollars and cents as my (our) Bid for the marked timber advertised. I understand 10% of my bid will be due when the Contract of Sale is signed. The remaining balance of my bid will be due within 90 days of the contract date or before harvesting begins whichever occurs first. I also understand that the time limit for removal of timber for this sale will be 12 months from the date the Contract of Sale is signed. If I am declared the successful bidder, I understand that a Contract of Sale will be executed within ten (10) days of notification of acceptance of my bid.
