Human population density : 65 persons per km 2 Socio-economically weaker sections 19% of the total population I. Scheduled Caste : 11.9% II. Scheduled Tribe : 7% Rural Population : 69% Urban Population : 31% Literacy rate : 53%, (State average of 61%).

6 In Kachchh District : Gujarat All the Activities of NAP can be converged with NREGA and funded under NREGA, Because Only two models are being implemented under NAP : Artificial Regeneration Pasture Development Both the activities have more than 60% labour component Entry Point Activities and other overhead expenditure will be covered within 40% material cost. NO Contractor System : But all the Local people have to be employed

The talukas covered are Bhachau, Gandhidham,Mundra,Anjar, Mandvi, Abdasa and Lakhapat. The Prosopis juliflora will be removed and planted with indigenous species and Casuarina equisitifolia
