You may catch a glimpse of a muntjac deer, roe deer, hares, rabbits and squirrels that are resident within the woodland. The chattering of black birds along with the call of a buzzard fill the air and during the winter months woodcock migrate to the woodland. The wood is conveniently located and is only 11 miles from the town of Northampton. It is surrounded by villages and agricultural farmland and offers an ideal rural retreat yet is equidistant from the M1 and A1 providing good access from anywhere. Because this is special woodland it is protected as a SSSI (Site of Special Scientific Interest).
