2 INVITATION On behalf of the Department of Zoology and School of Studies in Life Sciences, Guru Ghasidas Vishwavidyalaya, Bilaspur (CG, India), you are cordially invited to participate in the INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE ON EMERGING RESEARCHES IN BIOSCIENCE - A new era of research from bench to bedside, to be held in the green and vibrant campus of Guru Ghasidas Vishwavidyalaya Bilaspur C.G. (India) from October, OBJECTIVES The main objective of this meeting is to provide an opportunity of interaction between the participants from the diverse field of biosciences, medical science and natural sciences. Participants will be able to present their research findings and share information about their researches with renowned scientists and will learn about the new advancements and developments in the field of bioscience research. World renowned speakers will share the most recent research developments in biosciences with the participants of this conference. This meeting will also provide an opportunity of interaction between clinicians and basic scientists which is one of the main objectives of this meeting. Young scholars and faculty members early in their career will discuss the procedure of obtaining research grants and will open new avenues of collaboration between the faculties as well as institutions. ABOUT BILASPUR Bilaspur city is located in the Indian state of Chhattisgarh, situated 111 km north of state capital, Raipur. It is the second- largest city in the state. Chhattisgarh high court at Bilaspur privileges it to host the name Nyaydhani (as law capital) of the state. Bilaspur is known for its aromatic doobraj rice, handloom woven colorful soft kosa silk saris and varied and colorful culture. Places of interest in and around Bilaspur include: Amarkantak, Chaitoorgarh, Ratanpur, Giraudhpuri, Sirpur, Talaganv, Pali, Janjgir, Kharod, Sheorinarayan, Sirpur, Bhoramdev, Rajim, Shri Aiyyappa Mandir, Narmada River, Kanan pendari, Mungeli, Mahamaya Temple, Khudiya dam, Lormi and Khutaghat dam and Rani Sati Temple.

3 Besides these places of ancient and cultural heritage, the city is also famous for its wildlife. This is because of its situation with in the state. It is reputed for having some of densest forest in the country and an even spread of hills and rivers. One such place worth visiting is the Achanakmar wildlife sanctuary. Famous for the variety of its wildlife, the sanctuary is spread over an area of 551 km 2 and was granted wildlife sanctuary status in 1975 under the wildlife protection act. The sanctuary is 55km away from Bilaspur and is closed during the monsoon season. ABOUT THE UNIVERSITY Guru Ghasidas Vishwavidyalaya (GGV) is a Central University of India, established under Central Universities Act 2009, No. 25 of Formerly called Guru Ghasidas University (GGU), established by an act of the State Legislative Assembly, was formally inaugurated on June 16, GGV is an active member of Association of Indian Universities and Association of Commonwealth Universities. Situated in a socially and economically challenged area, the University is appropriately named to honor the great Satnami Saint Guru Ghasidas, Who championed the cause of the downtrodden and waged a relentless struggle against all forms of social evils and injustices prevailing in the society. Satguru Ghasidas was a great saint, successor of the Satnami sect of Chhattisgarh, migrated from Narnaul, Haryana. Satguru Ghasidas was born on 18 th December, Guru Ghasidas University is a lush green campus spread over an area of 875 acres (3.54 km 2 ), five kilometer from the main Bilaspur town. River arpa, the lifeline of Bilaspur, runs parallel to the university campus. The university covers almost the entire spectrum of the higher education requirements of the local people. It has 32 University Teaching Department in its campus and is structured into 9 schools.
