8 PW and the Sustainable Development Goals Practicing sustainable forest management is important for limiting climate change and its impacts. Protecting biodiversity and guaranteeing the livelihoods of the local population are addressed by the United Nation as priorities and aspirations for 2030 (UN Framework Climate Change Paris Agreement art 5). Precious Woods through its activities in the Congo Basin and Amazonas rainforest is a strong contributor to these Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). For more details:

18 BK Energía - Relevant facts BK Energía power plant was created to produce 9MW of electric energy using steam produced with wood biomass transported from PWA sawmill by conveyor belt; Operations started in November 2002 and since then it has been available (working) for more than 91% of the time; BK power plant delivers to PWA steam to the wood dryers and electric energy to the sawmill; Great part of the energy produced by BK is delivered to Itacoatiara (a habitants city) that was fully served with a Diesel power plant generation system in the past. BK Energía power plant has 44 employees working on operation, maintenance and administration; 18
