For over 40 years, COST has supported networking of S&T activities across all its member countries (36 today) and beyond. COST is open to all disciplines, to all novel and ground-breaking S&T ideas, to all categories of partners, and to the world for real mutual benefit. 2

3 What is COST s Mission? COST enables breakthrough scientific developments leading to new concepts and products, thus strengthening Europe s research and innovation capacity. 3

4 What are COST s Principles? Highest S&T Quality S&T-driven (bottom-up) Transdisciplinarity Young researchers Gender-balance Sharing knowledge Inclusive Leverage 4
