TIMBER FOR SALE: Being offered for sale is an estimated 69 MBF (thousand board feet) and 65 cords of standing timber on land owned by Joseph V. Giuffre. The sale is a total of 651 trees marked in blue paint. Timber volumes for sale are derived using the International ¼ Inch Rule. Each tree being offered for sale has been marked by paint on the main stem and at the ground line. Sawlog trees are marked by a horizontal stripe. Pulpwood (firewood) trees are designated by vertical stripes. There are some trees marked with blue T s. These are trees with large obvious defects where there is still sawlog volume, but significant deductions were made. Hardwood trees are estimated to a 10 inch top or where two clear faces end. No top wood pulpwood was calculated in log trees so there will be an overrun with crown top wood. The timber is located as shown on the included map. HARVESTING CONDITIONS: The timber is located on Meadow Brook Place in the town of New Scotland, NY. It is located about a 15 minute drive south of the Cross Gates Mall at the south end of the Northway I-87. There is an existed gravel road that will be used to enter the property. Minor bulldozing will be needed to enter a field where the trees will be landed. The landowner has requested that the timber be cut and removed with frozen ground conditions. The ground is gently sloping downhill towards the landing. There are no areas with extreme difficult ground to access the timber. The soils are clay/shale. There are a few small drainage streams to be crossed that will need to be protected. The property lines for most of the property and sale area is flagged in orange fluorescent ribbon and dotted with 3 blue marks. Tops will be lopped according to F&W specifications (basic breakdown to 6-8 ft. for seedling protection). Skid roads and landings need to be smoothed upon completion and left free of debris. The field must be clean of all debris including branches and wood chunks. Any haul roads, skid roads and landings used will have to be left as good as or better than when the harvesting commenced. The Seller reserves the right to restrict harvesting if conditions are excessively wet. With any questions regarding the sale or the contract please call F&W Forestry Services, Inc. TERMS: This will be a lump sum, sealed bid sale. A Timber Sale Agreement allowing 1 winter will be offered. There will be a formal showing of this timber on Tuesday October 22, 2013 at 9:00 am. We will meet in front of the project area on Meadow Brook Place (see map).
