The harvests are 46 combined acres of selective harvests with an average sawtimber volume of 3 MBF per acre and 4.8 cords per acre scragwood and 14.8 cords per acre of pulpwood. The timber sale will be administered by Metcalfe Forestry LLC. All bids must be turned in to Metcalfe Forestry before 6 pm Wednesday, November 12 th Metcalfe Forestry reserves the right to refuse any and all bids. Bid results will be available for all interested bidders. Please mail / fax / all inquiries and bids to the following address: Metcalfe Forestry LLC 402 Chestnut St. Grayling, MI Office Fax Cell: Bryce metcalfeforestry@yahoo.com The harvest can be accessed from Camby Road as shown on the attached map. The haul route will cross the field and continue east to the corner of the field. The route will use an old logging road in the woods and will end at the landing shown on attached maps. Trees that are to be harvested along the edge of the old logging road have been marked with a double blue slash. Pink flagging has been hung at the edge of a field on Camby Rd., on some bushes at a midpoint in the field, at the edge of the woodline and at the landing. Some road work and stumping will be necessary to facilitate logging operations. There is no driveway off of Camby Rd, a temporary one will have to be installed to facilitate logging operations. Potential bidders will need to park on the edge of Camby Rd and walk in or bring a 4-wheeler. The old logging road in the woods may require some gravel and/or a culvet depending on the conditions at the time of the harvest. The landing area will require some stumping in order to turn the trucks around. Wood can also be stacked in the field however this is a long skid from the easternmost portions of the harvest. The east and west halves of the timber harvest are split by a small stream and surrounding wetlands. We have found the narrowest area to cross and have marked out a skid trail there. To access the eastern half of the timber harvest, the logger will need to corduroy a skid trail across about 75 feet of wet area. Timber harvest operations, including cleanup must be done by October 30th of No harvest operations can occur between April 15 th and July 15 th of any year due to slippage season. No whole tree skidding or chipping of the tops. Harvest operations can occur during hunting season. Although most of this harvest is located on upland sites, the soils are loamy and there are numerous springs and seeps. Timber harvest operations may become restricted during excessively wet weather. Ten percent of the sale value is to be paid up front when the contract is signed. Prior to the start of any logging or road building, the buyer shall provide proof of Worker's Compensation Insurance as required by law, and Liability Insurance coverage in the amounts of $250,000 per person and $500,000 per incident. The buyer shall maintain this required insurance until completion of all logging activities on the property. The buyer will be required to provide a performance guarantee in cash, check, or an irrevocable letter of credit from a bank to be paid up front, before beginning harvest operations for $3, The harvest can be split into payment units and each unit must be paid in full before beginning harvest operations.

2 Harvest boundaries are marked with red paint. Payment unit lines are marked with pink rings. For all payment units; harvest all trees marked with blue paint as well as all beech, ash and aspen. Leave trees marked with aqua green paint. Sugar maple trees with sawlogs in them have been marked with a blue X and a dot for each sawlog that we believe the tree contains. Sawlog volumes for sugar maple were determined by measuring 100% of the log trees being harvested. All other volumes were determined by measuring the trees on 56 sample plots with a 10 BAF prism. The tops of sawlog trees are included in the estimated pulpwood volume. All measured pulpsticks and logs were 100 inches long. Sawlogs were measured to a 12 top, scragwood to a 7 top and all pulpwood was measured to a 4 top. 42 of the sugar maple log trees (16 % of the total number) were determined to contain at least one Veneer or Grade One saw log. The remaining trees contain grade 2 or 3 sawtimber. The following volumes are not guaranteed by the Seller or the Seller s agent. Bidders are strongly encouraged to visit the harvest and make their own volume estimate. The calculated statistical margin of error for the timber cruise is 20%. This means that there is a 95% chance that the real harvest volume is within 20% of the estimate of 1116 cords. There is a 5% chance that the real harvest volume is more than 20% of the estimated 1116 cords.
