ES explained that Sophie McKay from NaSFA committee is unable to attend the AGM and sends her apologies. ES explained that Lucie Cook stood down from NaSFA in Autumn due to other commitments. Accountability JA Giving Tuesday and regional meetings SH Charities, NUS events, advising new groups AK Constitution, stakeholder survey 1

2 Questions Q1: If NaSFA start charging a membership fee, can the committee guarantee that the membership fee won t increase? ES: We will put restrictions on this into the NaSFA Constitution Q2: Why was the agenda for the AGM only put online today? ES: It has been on nasfa.org.uk for two weeks, but we did only put this online on Facebook today. Very sorry. Q3: As you lost a committee member this year, what will you do next year? Will you have a bi-election if someone drops out? ES: We will put rules around this into the Constitution Q4: Why is the membership fee essential for online voting? ES: It isn t essential, it is just a simple way for the committee to see who the membership are, so that we can give you voting rights for the AGM. Debates ES explained that there would be speeches for and against (1 min each), then a vote on each topic. Can SU staff have speaking rights in the AGM? Brad Johnson from Hertfordshire SU spoke for: They have expertise that could be useful They obviously care about student fundraising No-one spoke against 25 votes in favour 3 votes against 2 abstentions Can charity staff have speaking rights in the AGM? Dave Charles from Bristol RAG spoke for: They are experts in fundraising Edward Sainsbury from NaSFA spoke against: They pay to be here so it s unfair 3 votes in favour 2

3 25 votes against 2 abstentions Should NaSFA become a membership organisation? Edward Sainsbury from NaSFA spoke for: We will know who are our members and target support to them We can do online voting, meaning that more RAGs can participate Brad Johnson, Hertfordshire spoke against: Doesn t like the term student fundraising groups Lots of people discussed individual words and phrases in the proposal. 3 votes in favour 8 votes against 14 abstentions Can the AGM adopt the proposed NaSFA Constitution? Josh Hale, Swansea RAG spoke for: Although this Constitution isn t perfect, it s a good place to start Fundamentally it will work as a Constitution and it s good to have one Loughborough RAH spoke against: It s not been well thought out The AGM should have had time to read it before today 2 votes in favour 10 votes against 17 abstentions Should NaSFA research a standardised way to calculate a student fundraising total? Jack Amos, Hertfordshire spoke for: We re not proposing one method, we re proposing to start researching different methods and to bring a proposal to RAG Conference 2016 It will be good to have a national total 3

4 It s good to be able to compare against other similar RAGs Dave Charles, Bristol RAG spoke against: It s not important at this stage NaSFA have other, bigger things to work on 24 votes in favour 4 votes against 1 abstention To approve the proposed NaSFA strategy: 21 votes in favour 1 vote against 6 abstentions NaSFA committee election There will be one vote per institution. Only students and sabbatical officers are eligible to vote and all students and sabbatical officers should make a collective decision about which candidate(s) they would like to vote for. 7 RAG Conference 2016 election There are three teams running to host RAG Conference 2016: Hertfordshire Loughborough Oxford Each team will be given the opportunity to show their proposal video, and to speak about why RAG Conference should be hosted with them. They will then get questions from the floor. The results were: 7
