The emphasis on education, debate, and on lifelong learning is a testimony to the fight for justice and education, and is a key to Robben Island s role as a heritage site and its human rights discourse. Robben Island Museum Education department is mandated to exercise considerable responsibility to interpret, curate and conserve this tangible and intangible heritage.
