REPORT SUMMARY This report is to fulfil Section 120 of the Vancouver Charter which requires that within 30 days after the declaration of the official election results, the Chief Election Officer submit a report of the election results to Council. A comprehensive review of the election is forthcoming in the spring of COUNCIL AUTHORITY/PREVIOUS DECISIONS There is no applicable Council Authority or previous decisions relevant to this report. CITY MANAGER'S/GENERAL MANAGER'S COMMENTS REPORT The City Manager submits the report for information only. Background/Context On Saturday, October 20, 2018, a local election was held in the city of Vancouver. There were 448,332 registered voters in the city of Vancouver of which 176,450 voters cast ballots. Voter turnout was 39.36%.

3 Local General Election Results Assent Voting: Capital Plan Borrowing Questions In addition, with respect to Assent Voting that took place on October 20, 2018 in accordance with Part II of the Vancouver Charter, I declared the following Capital Plan Borrowing Questions approved: 1. Transportation and technology $100,353,000 for the following purposes? A. Street and bridge infrastructure To provide for major maintenance, reconstruction and enhancement of the arterial and neighbourhood transportation networks, sidewalks, greenways, and cycle routes, and to undertake major maintenance of bridges and other structures, including repairs and $47,429,000 B. Traffic signals and street lighting structural work on Granville Bridge. To provide for major maintenance, replacement, and enhancement of traffic signals and street lighting that are beyond economical repair or no longer meet operational requirements. $42,924,000 C. Technology projects To provide for the renewal and enhancement of the City s information technology systems such as data centres, servers, and applications that support the delivery of and access to City services and programs. $10,000,000 Total $100,353,000 YES 118,344 NO 40, Capital maintenance and renovation programs for existing community facilities, civic facilities, and parks $99,557,000 for the following purposes? Civic facilities design stage.
