2 The City of Peterborough Post-Closing Addendum Number 1 to Request for Tenders T Item: 190 Simcoe Street Parking Garage Elevator Cylinder Replacement The following outlines amendments to the original documentation for the above noted Request for Tenders. The Drilling and/or Excavating work, that may or may not be required as part of this project was listed as part of the base bid to allow the City to fully evaluate the potential total cost of the Work. However, the lack of detail requested in T meant the bids could not be evaluated. The City has therefore, issued this Post- Closing Addendum #1 seeking a more detailed bid for this potential part of the Work to assist with the award evaluation. Item 1 New Information This Addendum forms part of the Contract documents and is to be read, interpreted, and coordinated with all other parts. The cost of all contained herein is to be included in the contract sum. The following revisions supersede the information contained in the original drawings and specifications issued for the above-named project to the extent referenced and shall become part thereof There are changes to the Specifications for the following components of the Project: Item Simcoe Street Garage Elevator Cylinder Replacement. The Post Closing Addendum #1 is being distributed to the following firms only: a. Delta Elevator Company Limited b. Schindler Elevator Corporation Item 2 Revisions to RFT T Attachment 2 Specifications 2. Separate Prices, 2.1 Drilling and Excavating shall now read as follows: 1. Drilling (by means of an auger or ramming) and other excavation work below elevator pit construction shall be quoted separately as per Appendix C.; the price shall include an all inclusive fee per foot (inclusive of the successful bidder s supervision and any sub-contractor s to perform the work described) to drill and/or excavate the pit if required. The cost of the work shall be based upon an estimate of 55 feet. The same per/foot unit rate will be used for addition/deletion. The Contractor will be paid for the actual footage drilled and/or excavated using the unit rate per foot provided

3 2. Work by companies performing the water drilling, suction or vacuuming shall be included in the base bid and shall NOT be considered as separate cost or extra to the base bid. This work if required will be paid for as an all inclusive unit rate per foot. Actual depth of work performed shall be verified by the Consultant Closing Date and Time Sealed Tenders are to be submitted to the City of Peterborough, Corporate Services, Tenders and Proposals, Main Floor, City Hall, 500 George Street North, Peterborough, ON, before 3:00:00 p.m. local time, on Thursday, April 2, The time registered on the City Hall digital clock, will be considered the official time of day when determining exact time of each submission. All Tenders received before the Closing will be marked by City staff with the date and time received. Tenders will not be accepted after the Closing Opening Date, Time and Results All Tenders received on time will be opened in public on Thursday, April 2, 2015 at 3:15 p.m. local time, at City Hall. The names of Bidders and the financial information read at the Opening, as identified in Appendix C, will be available after the Opening on the City website at This information is unofficial, subject to review and award. Bidders will not be notified in writing of the Opening results. 1.4 Section 4.2 Errors, Omissions and Questions The City shall not be held liable for any errors or omissions in any part in this RFT. Bidders with questions related to this RFT, finding errors in, or omissions from, the drawings or documents, or having any doubt as to the meaning or intent of any part of the RFT, must fax or a City Contact listed in this Section, providing reference to the applicable Section(s) and item number(s), before 10:00 a.m. local time, on Tuesday, March 31, This will allow staff time to respond or to prepare and distribute an addendum, as necessary, and to allow time for Bidders to receive and process the new information. Questions received after this date and time will not be addressed. There will be no consideration of any claim after submission of the Tender, that there is a misunderstanding with respect to the conditions imposed by the RFT

4 Nothing in the RFT is intended to relieve the Bidder from forming their own opinions and consideration with respect to the matters addressed in the RFT. Failure to accept the RFT documents as issued for T shall disqualify the Bidder Bid Deposit The Bid Bond must be for at least 10% of the new submitted Tender price, excluding HST, as per Post Closing Addendum #1. If the Bid Bond on file is not adequate, then a new Bid Bond will be required. Please refer to the original RFT for information on Bid Deposits. 8 Appendix C Pricing - Revised Table 1 Pricing for 190 Simcoe Street Parking Garage Elevator Cylinder Replacement Line Description of Work Price** 1.1 Cost to supply all labour, materials and apparatus required to complete the elevator cylinder replacement project inclusive of overtime labour as specified. $ Price to be the same as submitted with your original Tender submission. 1.2 Drilling and/or Excavation The price shall include an all inclusive fee per foot (inclusive of the successful Bidder s supervision and any sub-contractor s costs to perform the Work described) to drill and/or excavate the pit if required. The cost of the Work shall be based upon an estimated 55 feet depth. The same per/foot unit rate will be used for addition/deletion.
