15 Mayor of The Blue Mountains September 18 th Councilors of The Blue Mountains Dear Mayor and Councilors of the Town of Blue Mountains; This year with the high water the ANSI area which is of great significance that is not underwater is in front of Lot 5. Why is the town blocking this access? The ANSI is for enjoyment, EDUCATION and respect of the public today and in the future. Not for it to be hidden and inaccessible. I am in the science education field and our school has yearly trips to the ANSI. I have a personal interest in observing the different fossils which I enjoy on my daily walks on the beach. Now with difficulty for myself and my dogs. As a parent and educator I have the concern about emergency access to the area in case of need. Surfers, boaters, walkers and paddle boarders that frequent the area may need assistance. How can a paramedic or by-law officer get across this obstructed public area of the beach front.? I am also concerned about the ecosystems that have been disrupted; the deer that use to access the beach by the path, along with the red fox, raccoon and the endangered spotted salamander that frequent that access to the water I have not seen lately. (Didn t the town spend money on a culvert to help protect the salamander from the cars: how about from the boulders?) Please take a look at what has happened to this very accessible beach since the beautification planting has taken place. We want our PUBLIC ACCESSIBLE BEACH BACK! If you haven t seen what has happened take a look: Before Now Sincerely Jill Teskey
