These questions will not be graded but rather will help you study for your Summer Assignment test on the E.U. Chapter 1: The Making of the EU 1. Which organization becomes the EU? 2. What is a international organization? 5. List four examples of international organizations: 6. In the beginning stages (prior to 1966), the EU is both Federal and Confederal Legislation can only be proposed by European Commission. The EC (European Commission) members are elected by member states. The EU has often been transformed from a problem solving arena to a place where European states can brainstorm, anticipate and act in common interests. The original six states to create the movement towards European amalgamation were Italy, France, West Germany, Belgium, Netherlands, and Britain. 1 P a g e
