While Bage and Pelotas projects are progressing well to reach the Page 1 of 7

2 development objectives (PDO), Rio Grande has come across final implementation obstacles and delays that may prevent the municipality from concluding key project activities before December 31, Santa Maria project, which was the last one to start implementation, is finally on track to achieve its PDO, under the context that a 12 month extension of its closing date is nearly granted (until December 31, 2013). Uruguaiana project, on the other hand, will be closed without having achieved the significant positive impacts previously expected, namely towards addressing environmental issues related to the municipal solid waste agenda. There are indications that most of the municipalities will keep their commitment to project implementation beyond the official loans closing date. 7 P IBRD Effective USD Disbursement Graph Key Decisions Regarding Implementation Restructurings of Bage, Rio Grande, Uruguaiana and Santa Maria Projects are being processed and are expected to be signed in November Among various minor adjustments, two aspects are worth noticing: (i) the closing date for the Santa Maria project is requested to be extended by12 months, until December 31, 2013; and (ii) the remaining funds under the Uruguaiana loan will be cancelled, as per the municipality request.
