Candidates for Mayor: Ron Bowen I Ronald Bowen am thankful for the opportunity to be a candidate for the Office of Mayor for the City of Oakley, Utah. My background and work experience have helped prepare me for this opportunity to run for Mayor. I was raised in the farming community of West Weber just west of Ogden, Utah where I attended Weber High School and Weber State College. I enrolled in apprenticeship plumbing classes, which led to my employment at Questar Gas Company for 27 years, 25 of which were in the Summit and Wasatch Counties installing, maintaining and repairing its natural gas service. Following my retirement from Questar, I was employed by Epic Engineering where I was an inspector of water, sewer, street and new development projects. For the past 14 years I have been employed by Oakley City and just recently retired in March. While working for Oakley, I was responsible and assisted in the maintenance and improvements for the city facilities, streets, buildings, parks, water and sewer systems and grounds. My tenure involved participating much in the construction and design of our current recreation complex, and I have a thorough understanding of its features and characteristics. I also served on the Oakley City Council for 12 years where I was a contributing member of a council, which strived to preserve and prepare this terrific town for its citizens both currently and in the future. I am happy to have played a role in such an outstanding 4 th of July Celebration and am grateful for all who have worked so diligently over the years to make Oakley a wonderful place to live and visit. With my wife Julene, I have raised my family in Oakley for the last 45 years where 3 of my 4 children and many of my grandchildren continue to call home. I have a deep love for this community and I feel strongly that I can make a positive contribution to the fantastic tradition, history and future of this marvelous city. I have considerable experience, a broad understanding and a deep knowledge of the needs, demands and workings of this town. I would appreciate your support in allowing me to represent you as Mayor of Oakley and assist all of you in continuing to make Oakley an enjoyable place to reside, recreate and raise a family. Sincerely and Thank You! Ron Bowen

--B.S. USU in Secondary Education with --MA in School Counseling --Administrative Certificate --South Summit Middle School Principal --South Summit High School Principal --Former President of the Utah High School Rodeo Ass. Wade Woolstenhulme As a lifetime resident of Oakley, I recognize the great heritage of our community, and I appreciate all of those who continue to work hard to make Oakley City such a wonderful place to live. It has been my privilege and honor to serve as your Mayor this past term, and I respectfully ask for your support to continue to serve you for another four years. During my present term, Oakley leaders have finished the Red Barn, remodeled Cattlemen s Hall, and obtained a $500,000 grant from the County for the purchase of critical open space and trail easements. I have worked towards obtaining a 21-acre natural preserve, Steven s Grove, which provides ½ mile of valuable Weber River access for Oakley residents to enjoy. We also just finished up our most successful rodeo, and in five years our bond (loan), which helped purchase the recreation complex and grounds, will be paid off largely due to the success of the rodeo and the many citizens willing to volunteer in this annual endeavor. In an effort to be more informative and interactive with our citizens, we have also recently redesigned our website (oakleycity.com). I encourage everyone to become familiar with its function and important news. Oakley City has also just been recognized by LendEDU as being one of the most fiscally healthy towns in Utah, resulting in one of the highest average credit scores in the State (#20 out of the hundreds of other municipalities). Looking forward into our future, allow me to present some of the more specific goals I have for the upcoming term: 1) Improve the infrastructure and operation of our valuable water and sewer systems. While this is not particularly the flashiest election point, it s clearly the most important issue for the health, safety, and property values of our residents. 2) Promote the use of our fantastic facilities. Because of the foresight of many, Oakley has been the recipient of wonderful facilities, i.e. the rodeo and arena complex, The Red Barn, baseball and soccer fields, Cattlemen s Hall and Oakley City Hall. I believe we can do more to promote the use of these and produce more income for the City. 3) Revitalize the city center. Before the financial crisis of 2008, Oakley performed an extensive study of this proposal, and I believe it is now time to revisit this, including bringing back the historic Millrace ponds. I am a strong believer in individual property rights and believe it is essential to do all we can to preserve our rural lifestyle while promoting appropriate commerce and

development. With your help, I promise to do all that I can to keep Oakley City a great place to live now, and for our future generations. Candidates for City Council (four candidates for two, four years seats) Dave Edmunds If the general purpose of a legislative body is to enact the will of its constituents and I believe it is it could be argued that the most important government in America is your local city council. Oakley City is standing at the precipice of a great decision: How do we maintain the integrity and spirit of Oakley while simultaneously negotiating inevitable change? That question, at least in part, will be answered over the next four years by your Oakley City Council. Those elected this fall, along with their cohorts already serving on the council, will determine much of Oakley s fate on the critical issues of our day. And, for better or worse, we will live with those decisions perhaps for generations. Serving as an elected official is a stewardship that should not be taken lightly. The elected fiduciaries of Oakley City should have a keen understanding of government operations, and its corresponding duties, obligations and potential pitfalls. I have studied and/or practiced the art of government my entire adult life. It would be an honor to serve the city I fondly call my home. I humbly ask you to vote DAVE EDMUNDS for Oakley City Council; God bless.

Christopher Hanson As an Oakley resident for over 10 years, I love what we all do about Oakley: wide open vistas, clean water, and very little traffic. Development is imminent, and we need a plan to keep what we love about Oakley. If Oakely City does not participate in the planning for this, the development will surround the city, impacting our lives everyday with no benefit to our citizens. I have been an accountant in private practice and for a private company for 13+ years, with significant experience developing and managing operating and capital budgets. Our sewer and water systems will need capital outlays in the coming years to maintain quality of services, and I want to help develop a plan that has the least impact on residents while providing room for growth. We need to develop an resident recreation space plan for the City. Open, public spaces have a positive impact on the lifestyle of nearby residents. People who have easy access to public parks and trails live happier, healthier lives and see increased property values. My goal is to ensure all residents of Oakley are heard as we plan for the future while maintaining the quality of our beloved town. Steve Wilmoth I am pleased to have the opportunity to run for election for Oakley City Council. I have been a resident of Oakley for 16 years, and I have enjoyed taking a more active role in the City of which I reside. My wife Carla and I are the parents to three children, one daughter and two sons and the grandparents of one granddaughter and one grandson. We have raised our children in Oakley and enjoyed having them attend and participate in the schools and activities at South Summit. Our family has been on the receiving end of being welcomed into a wonderful small community, one that held us tight in our darkest hour. I would like to genuinely thank you all for your true sincerity. Last fall when a vacancy came open on the Oakley City Council, after submitting my application I was honored to be appointed by the Council Members to become the newest member of Oakley City Council. I am now eager to campaign in our community

and hope to be elected by the citizens, to lend my leadership skills and my skills in interpersonal relationships to the great citizens of Oakley. For the last 20 years I have worked in management within the building industry with BMC West, Standard Builders and now Sunroc. I currently work for Sunroc Building Materials as the location manager in Heber City. My long history in management has given me strong administration, communication, budget management and customer service skills that I feel can be greatly utilized within the Oakley City Council. I would like to stand as a representative to the citizens of Oakley and let their voices be heard. Our family has always enjoyed the wonderful outdoors and everything that it has to offer and we live in a wonderful area to do just that. We are often seen packing up to go camping, riding ATV s, fishing and I never miss an opportunity to play softball at the city ballfields. I would like to do my part in preserving our town for future generations to enjoy as well. I do support sustainable growth - development is coming and we need to develop a plan to make sure our town has the capacity for that growth. I believe Oakley City can experience growth and stay "small". I hope to be a part of the future of our wonderful town and represent the voice of my fellow citizens of Oakley. Stephanie Woolstenhulme Oakley City is at a pivotal point. Growth is imminent and we see it moving very quickly to our city, but the quality of life and how we grow and develop depends on us, the citizens. The growth and master plan of Oakley has always been important to me, which is why I have been serving on the Planning Commission for 5 years and local HOA leadership for 8 years. A balance must be maintained and plan established. I offer familiarity with our city code and planning and a passion for tradition, but I also feel that I am open-minded and forwarding-thinking. It is important to me that my generation helps maintain Oakley as a unique and beautiful place for future generations.

My husband, Brady, and I and our 5 children live here. Brady's family roots and love for this city run deep, and I have lived here for 20 years and can't imagine a place I would rather be. Thank you for allowing me the opportunity to serve our city. Stephanie Woolstenhulme
