3 ASBESTOS AND HAZARDOUS MATERIAL RISK ASSESSMENT AUDITS To effectively manage asbestos exposure risks in the workplace, legislation requires employers, building owners and managers to be pro-active in locating and assessing the condition od asbestos containing materials in their buildings or workplace. Type of Asbestos Audit Non-Destructive Destructive Why? Development or update of existing asbestos register to be made available to employees and contractors. Registers must be reviewed every 5 years minimum. To further identify any asbestos containing materials or other hazardous materials not listed in the current register due to their location. These are usually completed prior to renovations or demolition. PRE-REMEDIATION MOULD VERIFICATION ASSESSMENT Flood damage and severe storms are common within the northern rivers NSW which can create damp environments leading to mould growth in buildings. Different levels of assessment are available depending on the owner s or insurer s preference. MOULD REMEDIATION Development of mould remediation scope including: Removal/ disposal of all non-restorable materials Structural drying where required Cleaning all restorable materials
