8 Platzhalter Successful project execution: Production transferred, capacity increased On the Dutch coast, we constructed a green field plant for the manufacture of monochloracetic acid with a capacity of 60 kilotons a year. The project also utilized the experience and process design of the plant owner. As well as completing the project on time and on budget, there was one crucial challenge to be overcome the design of extensive enameled equipment and pipelines. Our installation design ensures a high degree of flexibility for future expansion projects in terms of capacity and different product types. 8 An important element of the service we provided was the procurement of all services, equipment and plant components directly in the customer s SAP system. As we managed to integrate some of the existing equipment into the new plant design, many of the spare parts from the old plant can still be used, without impairing safety or quality. 9 The customer is particularly proud of its waste water plant, which is an example for the entire region. Even Chinese television was there and actually interviewed our German project workers. Wang Ge Ping, Lead engineer, SIAS Ltd., Shanghai, China Quality benchmark for an entire region For a Chinese company, we implemented a central waste water treatment plant at an industrial location in China. Because of the demanding treatment targets, the plant acted as an example of what could be achieved for an entire region. We supplied the process engineering concept for the large-scale plant, which was notable for its high salt loads, high AOX concentrations and stringent drainage requirements. The waste water is treated in various stages: First physically and chemically, then biologically. The special challenges included the fact that we were not confronted with the customer s full requirements until the on-site pilot phase. However, based on our know-how and our process understanding we were able to grasp the issues quickly and in full. We modified the plant concept accordingly and chose the appropriate technologies. 10 Quality up, costs down, high availability We handle process optimization and de-bottlenecking projects for the global market leader for phenol, with production locations in Germany, Belgium and the U.S. Together with the customer, we have developed a solution that allows secondary components to be separated from the product flow by reactive rectification. The aim was to cut operating costs and adjust product quality to meet the new requirements.
