1. What is BioSolv sewage treatment system? The BioSolv is an advanced sewage treatment system that is revolutionary in Malaysia and fuses state of the art technology in sewage treatment from both the USA and Europe. The result of this is one of the most cost effective and simultaneously high performing sewage treatment systems in the market today. Below are the highlights of our unique system: Designed to treat both black (toilet only) & grey water (shower, kitchen) Minimal Operation Costs & Low Maintenance (non-technical staff sufficient) Capacity range: 50-2,000 PE (Population Equivalent). Has two aeration chambers, allows far more efficient digestion of the sewage. Utilizing advanced biofilm technology that reduces hydraulic retention time from 24 hrs to only 6 hrs Result is a smaller footprint (30% space savings) which requires less power. Does NOT depend on Returned Activated Sludge (RAS). Sludge produced is smaller quantity & higher quality compared to other systems. Sludge is dried on drying beds and can be used as an excellent fertilizer. Odourless and virtually transparent final treated effluent. Final effluent to achieve BOD 5 < 10mg/l & Total Suspended Solids (TSS) < 20mg/l (Malaysian Standard A: 20mg/l BOD5 and 50mg/l Total Suspended Solids (TSS). System can be built in 3 different shells: High-density polyethylene (HDPE) tanks Reinforced Concrete tanks Prefab. Containerized System i.e. BioKompact

2. How does BioSolv work? A visual schematic diagram of BioSolv system is shown as below.

FAQ 1. What is the capacity of the installed BioSolv system? Answer: The design capacity of a BioSolv system is generally 50 PE to 2,000 PE(Population Equivalent). This system has a unique flexibility to increase the original capacity by approximately 20% if required in the future due to population expansion. This can be easily done at a minimum cost without needing to construct a separate system. 2. What is the startup time for a BioSolv system? Answer: BioSolv system is uniquely designed for pre-fabrication at our factory facility where quality and testing can be monitored and controlled prior to shipping to site for final commissioning. Once the system has reached the destination, it will take only 7-10 days for our installation team to have the system fully up and running. 3. BioSolv system has been known in the market as one of the most energy efficient system. Why so? Answer: At Tomher, we take pride in engineering green system that produces the highest quality effluent at very low power consumption. This allows our clients to not just achieve savings in energy, but also overall savings in maintenance cost. E.g, the installed system utilizes approximately 60kWh of power on normal running. 4. Foam is found overflowing from treatment tank- Reactor Tank 1& Reactor 2? Does it mean the system is not working? The foam produced in the Reactor Tank 1 and Reactor Tank 2 is very common when the system has just commissioned. This is due to the fact that the biofilm has yet to establish its optimum level. The BioSolv system is equipped with automatic foam jets that will reduce the foam level but in general, the foam shall disappear after 1-2 months after the system is in operation. 5. Is bad odour a common problem for BioSolv system? No. A proper functioning BioSolv system does not generate any bad odour at all. In fact, many of our clients have in the past commented that they did not even realize that it is a sewage treatment plant. Distinctive odour of a system is generally due to the anaerobic reaction (No oxygen supply) of the system, and this is very common for Septic tanks. The BioSolv system provides very high oxygen level to the system to optimized its aerobic reaction (Oxygen supply) and any odour produced by aerobic reaction is insignificant. 6. Will sewage overflow from the Septic tanks just like what we encountered previously? No. The sewage inside septic tanks are designed to be automatically pumped into the BioSolv system balance tank 1 with float switches control based on water level, not by timer. At low water level, one pump will be activated. At high water level during peak flow, two pumps shall

be activated at the same time until low water level is again achieved. The float switch control shall ensure that low water level is always achieved so no overflowing shall occur. Please refer the trouble shooting of overflow in septic tank in the provided SERVICED AND MAINTENANCE MANUAL FOR BIOSOLV manual 7. What is the major maintenance and cleaning? Please refer to the provided SERVICED AND MAINTENANCE MANUAL FOR BIOSOLV 150PE manual and follow the recommended service/ maintenance time table. The major system inspection is to check the control panel everyday if possible. 8. Can we turn off the system? Yes but we do not recommend turning off the system as our Biofilm technology performs at the most optimum condition when sufficient aeration is provided to the system. That said, the system can be turned off the system for short period for maintenance or during emergency. The whole system will turn from aerobic reaction (Oxygen reaction) to anaerobic reaction (No oxygen reaction). If the system is left idle for more than 48 hours, a system restart will generally take about 5 days for the biofilm to again reach optimum level. 9. How often do we need to service the mechanical equipment? As good preventive maintenance practice, the mechanical equipment should be serviced annually or as and when the running ampere of the equipment has shown signs of increase. We train our clients to always check the running ampere of all equipment during routine check to effectively spot equipment that needed immediate attention. We will also conduct the 1 st service of machines within 1 year of the system operation which shall include changing of the engine lubricant and gasket. 10. What happens if Non-degradable material or FOG are disposed into the system? As with all sewage treatment system, it is always a good practice to educate your users to not dispose non degradable and also FOG (Fat Oil & Grease) into toilets. The BioSolv system is designed to tackle these nuisance since our submersible pumps are protected by stainless steel screening inside the UCSTS tank, this will prevent Non-degradable item to clog the submersible pump inside the UCSTS tanks. We recommend total desluging (clearing of all non-degradable items) underneath the UCSTS tanks if they are found to accumulate over time. We strongly recommend that good housekeeping exercise be implemented to encourage proper disposal of non-degradable materials into solid waste bins instead of down the toilet bowl.

FOG (Fat, oil, grease) is prohibited to go inside the system. It will form a thick layer on top of the system and will clog the pipe, not allowed the air to goes into the treatment liquor. A total cleanup is required if a thick FOG layer happen inside the system. 11. How much sludge can the system store before the next desludging? The designed sludge holding/ storage period is 2 months. The desludging period may vary due to the usage of toilet and also duration spread from the last desludge. The indication is to visually inspect the sludge holding tank for the level of sludge accumulated inside the Sludge Holding Tank and the suspended solids found in the final effluent. As suspended solids increases in the final effluent, it indicates that it may be time for a desludge. Desludging of a Biosolv system requires only a push of the button as it is designed to be automated. 12. Do I need qualified personnel to maintain/ service the system? Not necessarily. We will provide an on-site training to client and the same training will be conduct (refresher) to the same team during our 1 st year of service (3 times per year). The training will be based on the provided training material and training check list.
