8 Optimization increase of self - supply Operation of all electricity-intensive appliances and units (heat pump) at the time when power output from the PV is available Use of all available thermal storage (floor heating and buffer) Targeted operation of the heat pump Implementing enhanced control strategies to increase the running time of the heat pump. Increasing the temperature in the buffer Increase of surface and supply temperature of the floor heating Implementing of two batteries User comfort is not be limited by the proposed measures! 29. 13 Outlook and conclusion Implementing of new measures: OUTLOOK Increasing of thermal storage mass (825 l to 825 l l) Active function description and optimized control strategies Comfort measurements: adjust the installed ventilation equipment and the userspecific heating CONCLUSION Energyplus building and high PV-power self-supply is one of the answers to the challenges of our future energy supply The project is a role model example of integral planning and allows researching future orientated technology and energy strategies today. The high rate of PV-self-supply makes this building a trendsetting pilot project 29. October 2014 Dipl. Ing. F. Bockelmann PLUS-Energy Houses - A concept for future demonstration project Berghalde Seite 13

14 Lay out relevant planning aspects of architecture, energy, user comfort and building facilities for the Energy-PLUS standard in a holistic approach. Shows models of implemented systems for residential and commercial buildings and urban neighborhoods. Reveals the potential for global application to serve humanity at large. Available in German and English. 29. October 2014 Dipl. Ing. F. Bockelmann PLUS-Energy Houses - A concept for future demonstration project Berghalde Seite 14
