2 Who We Are Solar Design & Development (SD&D) Drives economic recovery and development through the proliferation of utility scale renewable energy projects. SD&D s solar applications provide sustainable economic benefit across a broad range of industries. Solar Integration SD&D is focused on utilizing Georgia s natural, untapped solar power potential to provide an economically feasible, stable, low-cost source of renewable energy to the state. Industry Leader SD&D was awarded the first two Georgia Power Company (GPC) utility scale solar PPAs. Copyright 2012 Solar Design and Development. All Rights Reserved. 2

3 GPC s First One-Megawatt Solar Facility SD&D has completed the development and installation of Georgia s first utility-scale solar power facility. 1 megawatt (MW) facility in Upson County Power supply for approx. 500 homes Two more GPC plants underway soon PPA Georgia Power will purchase 100% of output for 15 years under a power purchase agreement (PPA). The Public Service Commission approved the PPA last year. GPC s utility-scale PPA s allow Georgia s PV solar capacity to grow exponentially without encroaching on the state s Territorial Act. 3

7 What We Do Project Development Analysis Project Structuring Financial Engineering EPC Selection Implementation Creation of an Project structures are Individual tax law, A sophisticated Extensive experience in effective project plan, designed to maximize legal code, and utility understanding of solar project management and makes even the most available subsidies for companies make each PV system design, general contracting leads difficult project each project U.S. state a unique construction to the development of financeable, thus implementable Pre-development analysis determines overall project bankability. These combined with conceptual budgets and a master development schedule clearly define the scope of each project Every project is individually analyzed in order to construct economic models Models incorporate incentives, grants and subsidies to create cost efficient, and implementable renewable energy projects, which can then be marketed to the finance community energy market Our comprehensive project models are tailored specifically to each market and provide a dynamic perspective of each project opportunity Models depict the impact of individual project choices to the project s financial yield management, and the international solar industry allows SD&D to identify the proper EPC for each project Familiarity with local, national and international EPCs allows SD&D to drive project cost efficiency, & ensure system performance through a competitive bid process shovel ready projects designed with ease of installation in mind 7
