A connected workplace starts with providing a great small space with more tools and little luxuries in the places people naturally interact with like their desk and storage. And with the light and open design of c:scape, even a smaller space can feel luxurious. That s the difference between a small space and a great small space; giving people a personal and purposeful experience to support the way they work.

And if you need more privacy, it s even smart enough to blend with panels. c:scape s design maximizes real estate while reducing the cost of ongoing management. Reconfi gurations become quick and cost-effective. Now that s a smart business solution for today and for tomorrow.

Personal screens can be moved by users for privacy on-demand. 02 A great small space makes use of every square foot. Storage in-line slider door remains flush when open, leaving every square foot of space for the user. 05 Each user works differently and likes to arrange their desk according to their individual preference. A variety of work tools support the different ways an individual wants to work % of workers partner with others to get their work done. The open leg design as well as the desk shape and length welcomes side-by-side collaboration. 03 Workers are bringing small, mobile devices to work. The connect zone in the desk opens for easy, instant access to power and data while keeping precious worksurface space open. 04 A great small space demands attention to design details. Thin profile on storage is one way to create a light-scale aesthetic. 06 Users bring personal electronic devices to work. The drawer liner in storage protects and powers those low-voltage mobile devices. 07 With people bringing valuable electronic devices into work, they need to keep them charged and secure. The connect zone in low storage provides easy access to power and offers security for devices.

10 c:scape c:scape Technology Every stage of c:scape s life has been considered. We worked with McDonough Braungart Design Chemistry (MBDC), selecting only materials that are assessed safe for human and environmental health. c:scape is undergoing a complete Lifecycle Assessment, evaluating its lifelong impact on the environment from materials extraction through production, shipping, use and end of life. Data can be routed to the desk and terminate into the connect zone. Both modular furniture and NEMA faceplates can be used. c:scape is available as a Cradle to Cradle SM Certified product. c:scape also has Indoor Advantage certification from Scientific Certification Services as being a low emitting product, helping to contribute toward earning LEED credits for your project. Modular power kits are available for use in the connect zone when desks are tethered to the beam. The power is routed out of the beam reveal and through the end of the desk located closest to the beam. c:scape is level 1 certified to the BIFMA e3 sustainability standard. According to BIFMA, the level conformance mark ensures a comprehensive, independent and impartial assessment of the environmental and social impacts of a product s manufacture. Life Cycle Assessment Environmental effects evaluated for the Life Cycle Assessment of the c:scape workstation. Global warming Greenhouse gas emissions can lead to an increase in global temperature. Steelcase works to reduce GHG emissions throughout its manufacturing and transportation processes. End of Use Multiple options for reutilization and recycling Materials Consider materials and energy used for extraction Acidification Reduction in emissions also helps reduce the acidity of rain, other precipitation, lakes and streams. Eutrophication This is the naturally occurring degradation of aquatic ecosystems, often accelerated by human activities. Wastewater discharges and fertilizer run off contaminating marine ecosystems with excessive nitrogen and phosphorus nutrients are common causes. Reducing emissions like nitrogen oxide can help slow eutrophication. Photochemical smog VOCs (volatile organic compounds) are virtually eliminated in c:scape manufacturing, helping to reduce this kind of pollution. Base Power has an integral harness-to-harness connector and can be located every 1' within the beam. 1 1/2 high low storage units are available with a connect zone. Power and data can be routed to the connect zone for easy user access and cord management. Additional power block can be added in the connect zone by ordering an additional harness and power block. Use Product must be safe for use, nearly emission free, and long lasting Transport Reduce energy consumption and emissions for transport Production Use production processes that minimize energy and impact Abiotic resource depletion This is the depletion of non-renewable resources like metal and oil. Because c:scape contains recycled content, it uses far fewer raw materials. Waste Easy to recycle, c:scape produces minimal waste. Low-waste packaging and efficient shipping reduce waste even more. Toxic emissions c:scape contains no mercury, asbestos, CFCs, PBBs, HCFCs or methylene chloride. c:scape is certified as a low emitting product for formaldehyde and other chemicals of concern. Steelcase uses a low VOC manufacturing process for c:scape. Data can be placed in the base area for user access. Data is accomodated back-to-back (staggered) using modular furniture faceplates. Modular harnesses and harness-to-harness connectors are used to distribute power through the beam. Harness-to-harness connectors are used to branch power to connect zones in the desk and storage. When c:scape is no longer useful to you, the Steelcase Environmental Partnership program will help you responsibly take it to the next phase in its Life Cycle be it resale, refurbishing, charitable donation or recycling.
