In case of fire, very toxic, highly irritant and asphyxiating, sulphur dioxide (SO2) containing gases may develop (risk for development of pulmonary edema). In exceptional cases, hydrogen sulphide (H2S), an extremely toxic and flammable gas may be formed through reduction of the oxidation product SO2. PBT assessment The product is not considered to be a PBT. vpvb assessment The product is not considered to be a vpvb. The product is not a mixture. impurity < 0,50 %-b.w. SECTION 4: First aid measures 4.1 Description of first aid measures General information In case of persisting adverse effects, consult a physician. Remove soiled or soaked clothing immediately. After inhalation Remove affected person from the immediate area. Remove to fresh air, keep patient warm and at rest. If unconscious place in recovery position and seek medical advice. After skin contact In case of contact with skin wash off immediately with soap and water. Consult a doctor if skin irritation persists. After contact with molten product, cool quickly with cold water. After eye contact In case of contact with eyes rinse thoroughly with water. In case of irritation consult an ophthalmologist. After ingestion Rinse mouth thoroughly with water. Drink plenty of water. Do not induce vomiting. Never give anything by mouth to an unconscious person. Seek medical attention. 4.2 Most important symptoms and effects, both acute and delayed. 4.3 Indication of any immediate medical attention and special treatment needed. SECTION 5: Firefighting measures 5.1 Extinguishing media Suitable extinguishing media Water spray jet; extinguishing powder; Alcohol-resistant foam; Carbon dioxide Unsuitable extinguishing media Full water jet 5.2 Special hazards arising from the substance or mixture In the event of fire, the following can be released: Sulphur oxides; Hydrogen sulfide (H2S); combustion gases may form sulphurous acid upon contact with extinguishing water. 5.3 Advice for firefighters Run-off water from fire fighting must not be discharged into drains or enter surface water. Fire-fighting operations, rescue and clearing work under effect of combustion and smoulder gases just may be done with breathing apparatus. SECTION 6: Accidental release measures 6.1 Personal precautions, protective equipment and emergency procedures For non-emergency personnel Refer to protective measures listed in sections 7 and 8. Ensure adequate ventilation. Avoid dust formation. Keep away sources of ignition. Page 4 of 10

5 For emergency responders. Personal protective equipment (PPE) - see Section Environmental precautions Do not discharge into the drains/surface waters/groundwater. 6.3 Methods and material for containment and cleaning up Take up mechanically. When picked up, treat material as prescribed under heading "Disposal considerations". 6.4 Reference to other sections. SECTION 7: Handling and storage 7.1 Precautions for safe handling Advice on safe handling Avoid contact with skin and eyes. Avoid the formation and deposition of dust. Provide good ventilation of working area (local exhaust ventilation, if necessary). General protective and hygiene measures Do not eat, drink or smoke during work time. Keep away from foodstuffs and beverages. Wash hands before breaks and after work. Provide eye wash fountain in work area. Do not inhale dust. Advice on protection against fire and explosion Dust can form an explosive mixture with air. Take precautionary measures against static charges. Keep away from sources of heat and ignition. 7.2 Conditions for safe storage, including any incompatibilities Technical measures and storage conditions Keep container tightly closed in a cool, well-ventilated place, open and handle carefully. Protect from heat and direct sunlight. Requirements for storage rooms and vessels Store product in closed containers. Inappropriate material Copper, copper alloys; steel Advice on storage assembly Do not store together with oxidizing agents. Do not store together with acids. Do not store together with foodstuffs. 7.3 Specific end use(s). SECTION 8: Exposure controls/personal protection 8.1 Control parameters No parameters available for monitoring. 8.2 Exposure controls Appropriate engineering controls. Personal protective equipment Respiratory protection If workplace exposure limits are exceeded, a respiration protection approved for this particular job must be worn. In case of dust formation, take appropriate measures for breathing protection in the event workplace threshold values are not specified. Short term: filter apparatus, Filter P1 Eye / face protection Tightly fitting safety glasses (EN 166). Hand protection In case of intensive contact, wear protective gloves (EN 374). Sufficient protection is given wearing suitable protective gloves checked according to i.e. EN 374, in the event of risk of skin contact with the product. Before use, the protective gloves should be tested in any case for its specific work-station suitability (i.e. mechanical resistance, product compatibility and antistatic properties). Adhere to the manufacturer s instructions and information relating to the use, storage, care and replacement of protective gloves. Protective gloves shall be replaced immediately when physically damaged or worn. Design operations thus to avoid permanent use of protective gloves. Page 5 of 10
