3 MODERN MINING COMPANY Envirnmental Perfrmance Standards Envirnmental Perfrmance Standards Intrductin The Perfrmance Standards are an integral part f the OZ Minerals business. Their implementatin and maintenance prvides the means t: Manage and minimise threats; Identify and realise pprtunities; Cmply with statutry bligatins; Deliver a framewrk fr cntinuus imprvement; Prvide a measurement fr value-creating business perfrmance. The Perfrmance Standards apply t all Cmpany-managed Assets, their emplyees, directrs, fficers, cntractrs, cnsultants, and its subsidiaries and any ther party undertaking wrk at the Asset (Emplyees and Cntractrs). They als specify the level f perfrmance expected at nn-managed Assets. All Cmpanymanaged Assets are required t have capability based n the Standards. New r acquired Assets will undertake a Risk Assessment t determine when the Standards must be fully implemented. This Risk Assessment must be apprved by the OZ Minerals CEO. Envirnmental Perfrmance Standards The Envirnmental Perfrmance Standards are ne f fur perfrmance areas that tgether prvide the gvernance and integratin t unlck value acrss ur business. The Envirnmental Perfrmance Standards describe the minimum requirements f Assets t manage envirnmental threats and impacts assciated with specific activities r tasks, and t identify pprtunities that have the ptential t drive value creatin fr bth OZ Minerals and the cmmunities in which we perate. OZ Minerals is cmmitted t prviding a high standard f care fr the natural envirnment thrugh effective rganisatinal practices, prgressive land rehabilitatin and applicatin f impact prfiles as lw as reasnably practicable, which are central t ur cntinued perfrmance. 4 MODERN MINING COMPANY Envirnmental Perfrmance Standards Our activities are undertaken within the framewrk f mining apprvals, lease cnditins and licences established by envirnmental regulatry authrities. We actively engage with lcal cmmunities and ther stakehlders during the varius stages f a mining prject, frm envirnmental apprval prcesses and explratin thrugh t develpment, prductin and clsure, t ensure the envirnmental, scial and ecnmic impacts f ur prjects are understd. OZ Minerals is cmmitted t high standards f envirnmental perfrmance amng its Emplyees. The Envirnmental Perfrmance Standards supprt OZ Minerals plicies by articulating the minimum requirements t which Emplyees and Cntractrs must adhere. Definitins All cmmnly-used terms and acrnyms used in the Health and Wellbeing Perfrmance Standards are defined in the OZ Minerals Glssary. Rles and Respnsibilities The OZ Minerals CEO is respnsible fr apprving Standards and subsequent updates. Assigned ExC members are respnsible fr maintaining the Standards and authrising supprting dcumentatin. 5 MODERN MINING COMPANY Envirnmental Perfrmance Standards Risk Assessment As a part f regular risk management assessments during due diligence and at gate reviews, all Assets, in the cntext f their Asset, must evaluate risks relevant t these Perfrmance Standards. Asset management must then apply these Standards as apprpriate t their Asset and activities. The risk management cycle must be managed in accrdance with the relevant Standards relating t risk management. Assets must identify the critical cntrls used t manage Material risks, assess their adequacy, assign Accuntability and Respnsibilities fr their implementatin and verify their effectiveness as part f their critical cntrl management. Legal Requirements All Assets must track regulatry requirements and legally binding cmmitments and ensure that required actins are scheduled, actined, mnitred and clsed ut. Recrds required t be retained under legislatin must be stred in a central lcatin. At a minimum, all Assets must meet legislative requirements. Hwever, if OZ Minerals Standards impse additinal requirements, then Emplyees and Cntractrs must meet bth the legislative requirements and the additinal requirements f OZ Minerals Standards. Training and Cmpetency All Emplyees and Cntractrs must be inducted and trained in the relevant hazards and cntrls prir t undertaking any wrk. Apprpriate training and cmpetency assessments must be undertaken. Recrds relating t training and cmpetency assessments must be dcumented and maintained. Additinal requirements, if applicable, are detailed in the specific Standards. All Assets must prvide their Emplyees, Cntractrs and Visitrs with a fit-fr-purpse inductin apprpriate t the lcal sensitivities, risks and expected behaviurs. Inductin training in the hazards assciated with a particular Asset shall be included fr new persnnel where there is a ptential fr expsure t this hazard. Dcumentatin Relevant dcumentatin verifying cmpliance with the Standards must be kept in accrdance with the relevant Dcument Cntrls Standards and relevant legal requirements. Perfrmance All Assets must peridically, as determined by a Risk Assessment, cnduct an audit f their cmpliance t the OZ Minerals Standards t ensure elements are understd and applied at a lcal level. The perfrmance f Cmpany-wned Assets will be assessed against the requirements f the OZ Minerals Standards by the Cmpany at a minimum f every three years accrding t the Assurance Prcess. Actual perfrmance measures against each element f the Standard will vary accrding t lcal cntext, and guided by supprting guidelines and prcedures. Envirnmental Perfrmance Standards 2017 Page 5 f 13
