5 Safe & Reliable Operations We focus on Meeting or exceeding all regulatory and industry safety standards during construction, operation and maintenance Responding 24/7 to any incident Monitoring our system Two 24/7 gas control centres where operators monitor and control gas flows using a sophisticated computer system Equipped with automated leak detection alarms and shut down systems Routine aerial patrols to check for third-party activity or abnormal system conditions Regularly scheduled leak surveys in which a system operator walks the right-of-way with gas detection instrument Excavations of the pipelines to inspect, repair and re-coat pipe sections, as required Inline inspections to look for anomalies such as corrosion or mechanical damage Valve servicing and maintenance to isolate pipeline sections in case of emergency Spectra Energy 5

9 Maintenance & Enhanced Reliability Projects Crossover assemblies are installed at intervals along a pipeline system to comply with regulatory and operational requirements. They can be used to isolate a section of pipeline so service to customers can continue and help to keep the public safe. Spectra Energy 9

10 Maintenance Project Angusmac Creek Crossing Upgrades Purpose: Removing and replace two natural gas pipelines that cross underneath Angusmac Creek, ~80 km north of Prince George This work is part of operating a safe and reliable natural gas pipeline system It will ensure the upgraded pipes are equipped to meet channel shifting and increased creek bed scouring Project Scope: Upgrade select pipeline segments ~450 metres, 30-inch pipeline ~450 metres, 36-inch pipeline Project Status: Construction scheduled to occur in stages Pipeline installation: Late 2016 and early 2017 Pipeline removal: Summer 2017 In-service: Summer 2017 Spectra Energy is committed to undertaking all work safely while communicating with impacted stakeholders and Aboriginal communities Spectra Energy 10
