2 China to replace direct coal combustion with electrical heating Energy efficiency and emissions reduction continue to be important environmental goals around the world, especially for China. China's National Energy Administration (NEA) launched the clean coal action plan in an effort to replace direct combustion of coal with more efficient electrical heating. Currently in Beijing, more than 150,000 households have upgraded to electric heating systems, and it is expected that this will help to reduce China s coal consumption by 450,000 tons annually. By 2020, the government aims to eliminate all existing coal-fired power and heat generation units in China. With the country s aggressive demand for clean energy, the domestic market for green heating solutions will increase steadily with the implementation of stricter environmental policies and regulations. 5 52,128 professional buyers in 2016 ISH China & CIHE is the largest HVAC exhibition in China and I am a regular visitor at the show. I was surprised to see many condensing boiler systems on display that can be connected and configured via mobile applications. With the popularity of smart phones, consumers can control their home systems at the touch of a button. The fair fully demonstrated the benefits and applications of IoT technologies on various HVAC- related products. For 2017, the show expects to attract over 55,000 professional visitors. These organisations showed their support by putting together the German, Italian and Zhejiang pavilions, respectively. The German and Italian pavilions were formed by nearly 30 international HVAC leading brands in total, covering over 1,000 sqm of exhibition space. The Zhejiang pavilion was formed by 120 Chinese enterprises and stretched across 10,000 sqm. For 2017, the pavilion organisers are committed to hosting an even stronger exhibitor line-up for presenting the latest HVAC technologies to the Chinese market.
