Please ensure that only Aqualife approved replacement components are used. Inferior prefiltration, polishing filters and membranes may result in reduced water quality and reduced system peformance. Please note that components designed for home water treatment reverse osmosis system are NOT suitable for use in this system. Thank you very much for selecting AQUALIFE. In order to bring the best use of your system, please read the user s manual carefully before installation and follow the regulations.

ATTENTION This AquaClave water treatment system has been specifically engineered to supply feed water to any steam sterilising equipment. The product water is not recommended for human consumption. Drinking water solutions are also available from Aqualife Products (Australia) Pty Ltd. IMPORTANT The system has been engineered to operate within a controlled environment. Where high water pressure risks exist above 860 Kpa (125 psi) a 600 Kpa pressure limiting valve must be installed to avoid nulliying the warranty. Australian Plumbing Industry regulations require the installation of a dualcheck valve and this is a plumber s responsibility.

Introduction of AQUACLAVE RO P5 Manual Flushing Membrane System Incorporating the best Reverse Osmosis (RO) technology the built-in manual flushing membrane of the AquaClave RO P5 brings you premium water with less than 1 ppm in total dissolved solids quality at your finger tips! This special easily-operated function can extend the service life of the RO membrane. It also provides the ability to wash away carbon fines when changing filters. AquaClave RO P5 provides the quickest way to know the quality of your water. The system is capable of removing over 99% of total dissolved solids, +99% of all organics, and +99% of all bacteria. AquaClave RO P5 meets all different water quality needs. The total dissolved solids (TDS) test meter should be used on every ocasion when drawing water for use. Specifications Production: 50LPD 240Volt (50/60Hz) with a transformer Safety approval: TUV (EN60950) & CE MARK The system has been designed to comply with Australian electrical standards Special technical designs (Patented No flush membrane) 100% factory tested and sterilized ready for installation Operation pressure:5-80 PSI 11 litre NSF standards water storage tank FDA approved polypropylene made flat cap housing (double O ring) Automatic shut-off valve Flow restrictor Stainless steel check valve Long reach attractive faucet suitable for the application Feed water connector and delivery valve Drain saddle valve Four color coded 1/4 inch tubing for system conneciton Completely assembled and water leak tested TDS meter Dimensions: (cm) 47 (L) x 20 (W) x 42 (H) - System (cm) 28 (L) x 35 (W) x 28 (H) - Tank Weight: 12 Kg - System 4 Kg - Tank 01

What is reverse osmosis? Reverse osmosis was originally designed to make sea water drinkable for the navy. Reverse osmosis is the reversal of the natural flow of osmosis. In a water purification system, the goal is not to dilute the salt solution, but to separate the pure water from the dissolved salts and other contaminants. When the natural osmotic flow is reversed, water from the salt solution is forced to pass through the membrane in the opposite direction by application of pressure, thus the term REVERSE OSMOSIS. Through this process, we are able to produce pure water by screening out the salts and other contaminants. 02

Cartridge Filters Cartridge Filters Filter Description Service Life Stage 1 Pretreatment Carbon Filter This cartridge commences the treatment process by removing suspended solids such as dirt and rust. The other important function is to reduce the chlorine and organic content of the feed water 6 Months Stage 2 Pretreatment Carbon Filter The purpose of this high performance carbon filter is to further remove free chlorine and organic content of the water. It completes the 2 stage pretreatment of the feed water supply. 6 Months Stage 3 RO TFC Membrane RO Membrane This specifically engineered low volume production capacity with high rejection TFC membrane is manufactured in the USA. The membrane removes approximately 99.99% of all dissolved minerals and salts present in the feed water supply. Production and performance will be influenced by the chemical analysis of the water supply. 3 Years Stage 4 Post Carbon Filter Organic Terminator Post Carbon Filter NSF approved. This post membrane carbon filter is designed to remove organic residue. It removes residual impurities and odors from the tank and provides a finer conditioning of pure water. 6 Months Stage 5 Non-organic Polishing Cartridge Non-organic Filter This final process addresses all nonorganic residue leaving a quality of water that complies with AS Appendix C Quality of Feed Water for Steam Generation when the system is operated in accordance with this manual. 6 Months 04

Installation instructions A. With everything connected, SLOWLY TURN ON THE WATER AND CHECK FOR LEAKS. B. Make sure the storage tank shut-off valve is OFF. Open the sink top faucet. C. Within a few minutes (up to 15) the water will start to run from the faucet slowly. D. Let the water run for at least 30 minutes. This flushes the carbon filters on first time use. CLOSE FAUCET AND AGAIN CHECK FOR LEAKS. E. After initial flushing, open the shut-off valve on the tank and close the sink top faucet. F. Tank will now be full of water (usually 5 to 6 hours). Open the sink top faucet and drain all water until the storage tank is empty and there is only a small flow from the sink top faucet. ***DO NOT USE FIRST TANK OF WATER.*** G. Close the sink top faucet. The system is now ready for use. H. Change filters regularly every 6 months and have the membrane checked annually. Caution 1. Do not use hot water (over 45 C) 2. Do not allow the system to freeze 3. Switch off electricity and water source if away for more than 5 days, and drain the tank 11

How to apply the manual-flushing function When you need to apply this function, simply turn manual flushing switch on. Flushing for 30 seconds then turn switch back. Suggestion for applying the manual flushing function We suggest you apply the manual flushing function when: A. This is the first time you start to use the AquaClave system. B. When it is time to change filters. Applying the manual flushing function regularly (once a week) is also recommended. *Caution! Keep the system running when manual flushing function is on. Have the manual flushing function on for 30 seconds. Do remember to turn the manual flushing switch back after completing the flushing. 12

FAQ Q: What is the guarantee on the AquaClave RO P5 system? The AquaClave RO P5 system (excluding filters) is guaranteed for 1 year for material and workmanship. All defective parts will be replaced free within the first year under natural breakdown. The membrane has one year pro-rated guarantee. Q: What factors affect the quantity and the quality of the water production? There are four major variables to consider: 1. Pressure - The greater the water pressure, the better the water quantity and quality produced. Water pressure of 60 PSI is ideal. 2. Temperature - 23 C is the ideal water temperature for R.O. 5 C water will cause the production of R.O. water to fall to half of that at 23 C. The maximum water temperature recommended is 27 C. 3. Total Dissolved Solids (TDS) - The higher the amount of dissolved contaminants in the water, the lower the quantity of water produced. A high level of TOTAL DISSOLVED SOLIDS can be overcome with additional water pressure. 4. Membrane - Different membranes have different characteristics. Some produce more water than others; some have better contaminant rejection capabiltiies; some have greater resistance to chemical abrasion. For a longer life system include a carefully selected low production, high rejection membrane. The Thin Film Composite (TFC) membrane combines the best of these characteristics and is considered the finest membrane in the world. Q: Can the AquaClave system be connected to an extra faucet? No. This system is specifically engineered for use in the steam sterilisation process. 13
