2 Water Resources in Africa Africa faces a number of serious socio-economic problems that call for urgent remedial action if current trends towards endemic poverty and pervasive underdevelopment are to be turned round.. Water has crucial role????? Certain Natural Phenomena and Human Factors threatened Africa Water Management 1. The multiplicity of trans-boundary water basins, 2. Extreme spatial and temporal variability of climate and rainfall, coupled with climate change; 3. Growing water scarcity, shrinking of some water bodies, and desertification, 4. Inappropriate governance and institutional arrangements in managing national and transactional water basins; 5. Depletion of WR through pollution, environmental degradation, and deforestation; 6. Failure to invest adequately in resource assessment, protection and development; 7. Unsustainable financing of investments in water supply and sanitation.

4 Addressing these threats and challenges, calls for a new way of thinking about water together with a framework for action. The latter should be designed to ensure that we are able to achieve water security to Africa. Therefore one of the effective tool is South South Cooperation?

5 Introduction South-South cooperation is a broad framework for collaboration among countries of the South in the political, economic, social, cultural, environmental and technical domains Developing countries share knowledge, skills, expertise and resources to meet their development goals through concerted efforts.
