2 PFS Underground Transformer Substation Buildings description The PFS building is a monoblock concrete enclosure for Ormazabal s walk-in type underground Transformer and Switching Substations up to 36 kv. COMPOSItioN Ormazabal s Transformer Substations in PFS buildings consist of: Fully gas-insulated MV switchgear: CGMCOSMOS system (up to 24 kv) and CGM.3 system (36 kv). Protection, metering and control units (remote control, remote metering, integrated control, remote management, etc). Up to 2 MV/LV distribution transformers filled with liquid dielectric up to 36 kv and 1000 kva (1) per transformer. LV switchgear: Low Voltage Board(s) Direct interconnections by means of MV and LV cable. Earthing circuit. Lighting and auxiliary services. PFS monoblock reinforced concrete enclosure. Characteristics Industrialised building for Transformer Substation: Different MV diagrams can be incorporated. Comprising a monoblock enclosure (body) plus removable roof. Up to 2 Transformers: Enclosure tested for transformers up to 1000 kva. Access cover(s) located in the roof. Fenced off with protection mesh. Liquid dielectric collection pits, with resistant sealed covering. Fire barrier protection: layer of pebbles on the dielectric collection pit. Ventilation: By laboratory-tested natural circulation, class 10: horizontal (H) or vertical (V). Natural ventilation tests and modelling with Ormazabal transformers, to optimise their service life. Studies customised according to the data provided by the customer. Staff access: By means of non-slip cover(s) located in the roof. Assisted opening/closing, with opening of peripheral safety fence. Option of vertical access consisting of concrete outdoor enclosure with metal door. Equipment access: By means of cover(s) located in the roof. Physical separation can be added between the Utility and private cubicles. MV and LV cable input/output: Through sealed feedthroughs. Impermeability and sealing. Safety: Equipotential surface. Containment of any possible dielectric leakages. Fire protection. No access to hot parts. Installation: Suitable for areas where space is limited. Fully integrated in the environment: minimum visual, environmental and acoustic impact. Solutions available with pitched roof.

VENTILATION The PFS can be supplied with two types of natural ventilation, in order to adapt better to the environment: Vertical (V type) Formed by means of aluminium turrets on the roof for air to enter and exit naturally, thus continuously renewing the air and preventing the entry of surface water up to a height of 0.25 m above the ground level finish. Horizontal (H type) Comprising horizontal grilles at level 0, which create a circuit to renew the air flow and in turn collect any rainwater, which can be dispersed, if applicable, into the main drain of the urban sewer system. INSTALLATION The PFS enclosure is supplied fully factory-assembled, simplifying the installation process, which only consists of: Placing the PFS in the excavation. Inserting the switchgear. Connecting the incoming and earth cables. Final setup of the assembly. In addition, as all the electrical switchgear can be installed in the factory, you can save time and expense without affecting the quality. The finish of the PFS enclosures allows them to blend in with their environment (pavements, green areas, etc). The roof finish can be completed either in the factory or on site using concrete, tiles, gravel, etc. PFS is aimed at areas where space is limited and it may be necessary to remove structural barriers or areas with occasional passage of vehicles. It is the installer s responsibility to calculate and create the external earthing network.
