3 Professional development HYBRID IPS PLANNING AND IMPLEMENTATION Convened by the International Renewable Energy Agency Centre for Renewable Energy and Power Systems Arctic Remote Energy Network Academy Hawaii Natural Energy Institute IPS Connect will include a two day professional development course, immersing delegates in an accelerated project development scenario. Delegates will be teamed to navigate a real life IPS case study, facilitated by industry mentors, concept guidance and technical toolkits. This two day course uses the extensive knowledge and experience within the host organisations to bring a pragmatic approach to integration of new technologies within island systems. 5 DAY 2 Thursday 18 Oct 2018 Maui Tour and Technology Showcase Image: Auwahi Wind Farm VIP Facility Access Including: 9:30-10:30 Kuia Solar Farm Tour Maui s first utility scale solar project, the 2.87MW Kuia Solar Farm, commissioned in :30-2:00 Auwahi Wind Farm and Storage Tour The 21MW wind Auwahi wind farm was completed in December 2012, bringing Hawaii closer to its goal of increasing its use of renewable energy. An important component of the project is an 11-MW grid battery system. 3:00-5:00 Maui Brewery Co. and Battery Tour Maui Brewery Company is a leader in embedded generation, battery energy storage and microgrid architectures. The company satisfies all of its power requirements via an innovative solar, thermal, storage and diesel generator generation portfolio. It is also the largest and most awarded brewery in the State.
