3 The Law No authority Hereby is law about national parks, law no. 533 of 6. June 2007 with the changes, which follows from 30 in law no of 19. December 2008, 11 in law no. 484 of 11. May 2010, 16 in law no of 21. December 2011 and 18 in law no. 580 of 18. June Chapter 1 Objectives 1. The aim of the law is by establishing the national parks to 1) Create and ensure larger cooherent natural areas and landscapes of national and international significance, 2) Preserve and strenghten the quality and diversity of nature, 3) Secure continuity and opportunities for the free dynamics of nature, 4) Preserve and strengthen the values of landscapes and geology, 5) Preserve and visualize the cultural historical values and diversities of the cultural landscape, 6) Support research in and teaching/learning about the values of the areas, 7) Increase and strenghten the opportunities of the population to use and experience nature and landscapes, 8) Strengthen the communication and delivery of knowledge and research about the values and development of the areas, 9) Support a development which is beneficial for the local society, hereunder local business, with respect for the protection interests and 10) Strengthen awareness about the values of the areas through an integration of the local population in the establishment and development of the nationalpark 2, 3, 4.

6 The Plan, vision & objectives Vision Wadden Sea is internationally known as a unique marsh, geest- and tidalzone area with values in world class. The nationalpark is used, protected and developped in sustainable interaction between nature and human Principles Intiatives will always be implemented in dialogue and cooperation with involved landowners and authorities in accordance with the principles of the law for national parks which demands voluntary participation

7 Objectives 1. Protection of the free dynamics of nature. 2. Protection of cultural/man made natural areas. 3. Protection of characteristical landscapes and geological formations. 4. Preservation of cultural and historical places. 5. Develop outdoor-, nature- and cultural based experiences. 6. Sustainable tourism and leisure development. 7. Protection of very vulnerable nature through zoning, guidance & communication, marking and sign posting. 8. Strengthen of nature guiding and communication. 9. Strengthen research and education related to Wadden Sea. 10. Development in ship with surrounding society and increase of settlement. 11. Development of national park in cooperation with Trilateral Wadden Sea-collaboration and UNESCO World Heritage. 12. Evaluation and monitoring.
