4 POWER GENERATION AND COGENERATION 26 MW TGM turbine TGM has its own technology, expertise and consultancy services to develop power generation and cogeneration on thermal plants, using biomass or other fuel sources. 5 ENGINEERING Studies on Thermal Balance Present to customers by TGM, there is a complete mass and energy balance analysis. The thermal balance study is a complete inspection of the thermodynamic efficiency and its energy consumption aiming to maximize the surplus availability for trading. It s a thorough study about the current plant, with tests to reach the best implementation choices, seeking for future expansions, increasing the efficiency, the safety and the availability with a lower investment. Application This engineering integrates several devices into a single customized solution, meeting the most demanding requirements of all industrial processes that require mechanical drives and electric power generators. Regenerative Cycle on Thermal Plants Since it consists on using the surplus steam generated with the same fuel, in order to heat the condensate, feeding back the boiler. This cycle is based on the use of the steam during various stages of the steam turbine, in order to increase the condensate temperature, which raises the cycle efficiency. The regeneration cycle can be applied on both new and existing plants. Systems and Automation TGM provides automation and processes control solutions for power generation and cogeneration. These technologies are implemented by specialists, seeking reduction of maintenance cost and a greater equipment efficiency. TGM is always prioritizing the plant, the machinery and the system equipment safety. 13 RETROFIT PROJECTS TGM conducted several retrofit services on many turbines from different manufactures. Modernization, recovery and revitalization of the equipment is performed with the replacement of parts and sets of assemblies (kits). See below two cases of the application of TGM technology. In 2009, TGM has applied its overhauling technology in a turbine from another manufacturer. There was a real increase of 7.5% equipment efficiency on the power of the Turbo Generator, approximately 1,500 kw and a reduction of steam consumption of 0.73 kg / kw-h.
