15 Customer cases Saab PhoeniX Launches Aeromotional Design An innovative, stainless steel fuel tank is made from HyTens steel, up to five times stronger than standard carbon steel and 3 kilos lighter than a conventional plastic tank of the same volume. Developed by Saab and steel manufacturer Outokumpu, the tank is 100% recyclable and has a production cost about 50% less than a plastic tank. Tanks for biogas production Outokumpu will deliver LDX 2404 to Börger GmbH for building tanks to be used in biogas production. This is Outokumpu's first order for the recently launched new duplex grade. The main reasons for constructing the tanks in LDX 2404 are the high corrosion resistance and excellent mechanical properties of the steel. There is about 25% weight reductions in the construction. 15 August 17, 2011
