2 The Nordic countries hereby invite you to NORDROCS 2014, the 5th Joint Nordic Meeting on Remediation of Contaminated sites to be held in Stockholm, Sweden, on September 16 17, There has already been four successful NORDROCS conferences: Malmö (2006), Helsinki (2008), Copenhagen (2010) and Oslo (2012). OBJECTIVE The objective of NORDROCS is to address issues on contaminated site and sediment assessment and remediation in the context of Nordic conditions. The meeting intends to provide a forum for the exchange of information gathered through research and project experience. Target groups include scientists, regulators, consultants, contractors and other professionals working with contaminated sites and sediments in Nordic countries and other countries in Northern Europe and around the Baltic Sea. ABSTRACT AND PAPER SUBMISSION We welcome abstracts in English on conference topics by January 31, Abstracts will be assessed in a Review Committee. More information on submission of abstracts can be found on the conference web page: Oral and poster presentations will be selected based on the Review Committee s recommendations. A short paper on oral presentation will be required before the meeting. We also accept suggestions for short courses to be held September 15. This means that we welcome abstracts that address issues in all the Nordics countries or compare these countries' different approaches to handling contaminated sites. Projects outside of the Nordic countries are also of interest. The subtopics below are only suggestions, we will also consider presentations on other relevant topics. 5 EXHIBITION For companies interested in presenting their activities at the NORDROCS 2014 there has been reserved an exhibition area outside the conference rooms. This is the area for coffee breaks etc. which gives the exhibitors a very good opportunity to present their activities, products and/or other news to the participants. SOCIAL EVENTS The City of Stockholm invites all the participants of NORDROCS 2014 to the City Hall of Stockholm on Monday September 15. The guests will also have the opportunity to dine and dance at the Vasa Museum on September 16. The conference hotel will also be a nice and informal meeting place. EXCURSIONS On September 18 you are invited to join the excursion trip to visit Stockholm Royal Seaport a large scale remediation and development project in Stockholm. REGISTRATION AND FEES The Early Bird conference fee is ~700 (6.000 SEK) if you register within May 23, From May 24 the fee is ~780 (6.700 SEK). SPONSORSHIPS Sponsorships are most welcome min ( SEK).
