Experience and know-how 143 years of expertise dedicated to risk management Established in 1867, to ensure safer and better conditions in using steam boilers, Apave has progressively enlarged its area of expertise to the electrical equipment, and then to all industrial activities. Nowadays, acting as an independent body, Apave helps companies and communities wishing to manage their technological, human and environmental risks. The Apave s know-how consists in engineering risk management, through a complete range of intellectual and technical services.

A SPECIFIC ORGANISATION FOR ITER PROJECT International Quality Safety Environment Specially dedicated to ITER project, an international Consortium of major Third Party Companies APAVE, TÜV-Sud, ISQ. Open to international partners, IQSE is having Memorandum of Understanding with : ATOMCERTIFIKA ( Russia) and POLARTEST ( Finland) On the same model as ESQS, exclusive supplier of Arianespace and Centre Spatial Guyanais for more than 10 years More than staff, able to proceed all over the world

Business Club : «PARTNERS around ITER» and our new members in 2010 : SDMS, SCHNEIDER, TECHNIP

APAVE s EXPERIENCE REFERENCES IN MAJOR NUCLEAR PROJECTS International Nuclear Projects - ITER Project (working for ITER.ORG, Agence ITER France, F4E, UKAEA, ) - JULES HOROWITZ REACTOR (RJH) - Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, Japan Steel Work - ERP OLKILUOTO Project in Finland, French large-scale Nuclear Projects - EDF, new EPR nuclear power plant of Flammanville 3 - EDF, Le BUGEY 1 - MEGAJOULE LASER PROJECT (LMJ) - CEA CADARACHE Special Installations : TORE SUPRA, RES, MAGENTA, ROTONDE, CABRI, - EDF nuclear power plants and Production Engineering Division,

APAVE & French Authorities APAVE was the first Notified Body Agreed by the French Nuclear Safety Authority (NSA), French Nuclear Safety Authority (NSA) delegates to Apave some interventions for the conformity assessment of Nuclear Pressure Equipments (NPE). French Nuclear Safety Authority delegates to Apave the final assessment of NPE like Steam Generator of Nuclear Power Plants. APAVE is involved in other nuclear French projects with frequent exchanges with French regulator, concerning how this new regulation could be applied and the consequences on the design and manufacturing.

5 areas of activity for a global service and all the expertise needed to respond to new quality, safety and environmental demands Inspection Building Training Tests and measurements Consultancy

Inspection Checking the compliance of an equipment, a device, or an installation according to the regulations. Initial check before start up and periodical in-service inspections Pressure equipment Electrical installations Mechanical and lifting equipment Transportation of dangerous goods Fire safety Radioactive materials Networks: Energy and liquids

Building Technical Control of Buildings : Identify and prevent technical hazards during design phase and construction phase : solidity, safety, disabled persons access, acoustical & thermal insulation, etc... Security on worksites: Health & Safety coordination Property diagnoses Apave also proposes its assistance in work management, like assistance for choosing the location, the building materials, or any equipment regarding to maintenance expenses, assistance for completing the administrative documents )

Tests and Measurements Tests, measurements and analyses linked to environmental protection (noise, internal and external air quality, water and wastewater, nuisances ) Tests on products (individual fall-prevention equipement, medical devices, electrical appliance of any types, mechanical equipments ) Characterization tests and expertises on metallic, plastic and composite materials (mechanical tests, metallography, X fluorescence analysis, on site tests and control ) Metrology (Stapping/ measurement and control of any measurement equipment)

Consultancy Safety at work (professional risks, management systems ) Protection of the environment (classified installations, environmental impact assessments and danger, pollutions and nuisances ) Risks Management (health centers, health security, Transport of Dangerous Goods (TDG) ) Organisational and management performance (competences management, methods, tools, performances improvement, techniques )

Training Mandatory safety trainings, proficiency trainings, trainings leading to a qualification, specially customized and adapted trainings

Some examples of TRAINING Electrical high voltage network Asbestos protection Nuclear air conditionning Lifting Scaffoldings Chemical risks Codes & standards Etc..

Test Lab CAPABILITIES Modal Analysis & Measurement Maintenance Modeling Mechanical tests Climatic tests EMI/EMC tests Test Engineering Training

MECHANICAL & SISMIC TESTS Medium and high frequencies From 3 Hz to 3000 Hz Test facilities : 20 Electrodynamic shakers From 5 kn to 300 kn Test on the ERA (European Robotic Arm) customer = SABCA.

Structural tests: Static and/or fatigue with variable frequency capabilities Mono or multi actuator (up to 16) Loads from 10 dan to kn a large choise of modular adaptative tools for test bench assembling
