9 EU2020 Going Local Lead Partner Sörmland Regional Council developed the Sörmland Strategy to respond to the Lisbon Strategy. Selection of key indicators from the Lisbon Strategy, Local Action Plan, Management control system, Bottom-up communication model.

10 EU2020 Going Local Consortium of 14 partners, in 9 countries: Sörmland Regional Council, SE Örebro Regional Development Council, SE Düsseldorf Ministry of Economic Affairs and Energy, DE City of Duisburg, DE Regional Development Agency of the Ljubljana Urban region, SI Riga Planning Region, LV Zemgale Planning region, LV Stoke-on-Trent City Council, UK Municipality of Schaerbeek, BE Ministry for sustainable development and infrastructure, LU Province of Gelderland, NL Regio Achterhoek, NL Local Government Yorkshire and Humber, UK Cartaxo Municipality, PT

11 Objectives of the Project Exchange of Good Practices (GPE) on Energy and Sustainable Transport. Workshops to disseminate GPE. Identification and adaptation of GPE by project partners together with their local/regional politicians and stakeholders. Formation of Working Groups for partners to focus on specific theme. Creation of Local Action Plans for each partner (LAP). Involvement of Local and Regional Politicians, Civic Officers and Stakeholders is key.

17 Project Output Each partner will produce a Local Action Plan. The document will reflect the work needed at Local Level in the next 10 years and linked to Structural Funds ( ). The LAP will be ratified by each institution governance, and their ERDF Managing Authority. The LAP will be presented to the EU Commission in October 2012 for approval.

18 Conclusions Open and honest exchange of good practices, avoid repeating mistakes. Inspirations from state of the art. Partnership for future projects. LAP a strategic Local paper. A head start on future programme potential securing fund. Strong leadership from Politicians is paramount.
